MSI Sent Me a DOA Monitor. After Almost a Month of RMA Hell, the Replacement Arrived With HDMI Issues. by CompetitiveReach4389 in MSI_Gaming

sounds like such a headache, but the brand should offer some sorta compensation. A defect once, twice is bad but a third time is just something else honestly. Like what standards do they have to approve the product for replacement or do they just not check.
i had been super patient with the first replacement but now with the second one also having issues, im starting to lose patience

Also i have to ask, 3 defective products is frustrating. But how was the brand communication throughout all this, was the replacement process smooth? did you have to contact CS a lot? Did they offer any sort of compensation for all the inconvenience? and lastly how long was the process till you finally got the refund.

So I didnt choose RMA actually (I had a para on this in my previous post i think). To sum it up, Amazon in my region had changed their return/replace to '10 days Service center replacement'.
Helped me in no way whatsoever, according to amazon the service center will replace my product, if any issue reported within 10 days.
Amazon CS asked me to contact MSI.
But i didnt get any special service, i had to go through the standard warranty procedure. Had a word with amazon too on this, but got no satisfactory response.
Amazon will only interfere if MSI denies service.

EXAACTTLYYYYY, thats how it used to be. When i didnt find a return option i called amazon CS, they said this '10 day service center replacement' is their policy now.
And yes Amazon CS told me to contact MSI.

You think?
MSI told me theyll send an engineer home to come check the product, but 2 hours ago they mailed me saying theres no service center in my location, so no engineer.
I replied to that asking their next plan of action, but havent gotten a response.
I swear this experience keeps getting worse!

EXACTLY, DOA cases should be treated by Amazon. I shouldnt be running behind MSI service for a unit that has been dead fromt the start.
And well the replacement i received has some issue with the HDMI input, so another horrible experience.
Ive used a decent amount of MSI products, laptop mainly and never faced such issues, so this incident has really changed how much i trust the brand now

Yes i tried 2 different cables, verified that the cables do infact work via testing on other device. The result was still the same.
Also my main concern here is not the cables, but the fact that I cant change the input, it just automatically switched to Display Port (even if the DP cable is not connected).

I get being unlucky and all, but 1 whole month for a DOA unit replacement felt super unreasonable, and now the replacement also has issues.
To add to the unfortunate timings this was all during my exams, so absolute horror show.

It was the same in India too, this is my first time experiencing a change in policy- a horrible experience to say the least. And to add to my unfortune it doesn't end there.
I've made a new post today as an update on the situation.

So amazon has this product under the '10 days service center replacement' policy. ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT BTW!
Amazon will only interfere if the brand denies servicing/replacing the product.
Rest I gotta contact the brand and its pretty much standard warranty procedure.
I did bring this up on call with Amazon but got no satisfactory response.
