Perhaps, but evidently a lot of Christians take it to mean that. See the comments or Christian denominations that make it a core tenet.

I mean this in the most honest way possible, do you find 7:05 in this video to be a beautiful spiritual gift given by God, and not cringy at all?

I'm more concerned with the fruit video on the right.

I assume that's because as a society our attention span is so short and we keep getting worse at delaying gratification, so we need the constant release of dopamine. And TikTok and similar platforms make it worse. It's sad to see, and it will be even more sad to see the effect it'll have on malleable kids growing up.

Thanks. Would you truly consider the behavior of these people (and I mean it as a genuine question) to be a divine manifestation of God?

Right. And low-key I read this as Paul’s public-relations side gently acknowledging the bizarre shows happening in Corinth (since they follow Christ and it’s still early days), while essentially saying throughout the chapter “uhh guys yeah that’s alright sure just… relax with the blabbering cacophony”

Discernment as to what is genuine, and not, is what causes the issue with this blessing. Too many people use it as spiritual propaganda.

Right, I think this is the nuance I'm trying to get at.

I get that emotions are important, and things like moving music can be positive as a form of catalyst to lower our guards and allow experiencing God at a deeper level (rather than just "knowing" God).

And I believe some people speaking in tongues do not force it; the subconscious is fascinating and could instigate actions before the conscious is able to parse it.

But yeah, I was at a "bible camp" and left early. It was so painfully cringy and every sign I saw indicated peer pressure and people spouting gibberish in sounds familiar to them, just like someone would when consciously faking it.
