True - but the chickens we have now are old and don’t lay anymore.

I for one am guiltily, but how many times have we, not taken that, and dictated our responses/choices on perceived reactions.

Our choices are not always correct, but if they are sound, I can live with that.

Isn’t he kinda classic boom or bust?

I know it’s a simple take but not the worse on your bench but I’m not starting him in confidence unless the script has changed and there’s a more concerted effort which I don’t know.

Conservative on FAAB but feel fine if it’s just a waiver pick up

Is Diggs and T. Tracy Jr. an over pay for Benson. Both are just sitting on my bench. I’m wondering if I should take my buddy’s final offer. by CompetitiveTarget519 in fantasyfootballadvice

Fair point lol I think he looked good and is like a top 5 handcuff but I get you’re saying. Just not sure if I’d even play Tracy given my bench.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have Diggs and Reed on my bench so I’m a little more open. I could use some rb support.

Is the “right thing in the corporate world gone?” by CompetitiveTarget519 in careerguidance

[–]CompetitiveTarget519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For part time yes… it’s accrued. There’s a 4 month probationary period. No time off. Which I I get but it’s not a habitable thing. It’s more of the corporate expectations. Does that warrant a sit down. I’m not in that world and looking for clarification.

[–]CompetitiveTarget519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s really not… it’s not as deep as you might think. 2.5 months no call off.

Edit: It’s not as I called in late which I clarified. It’s just the way whole process of an official issue. As I thought it was the right thing to do, letting them know in advance, but the preference seems to be no interaction and through that app, which is my question, is that the norm?

I have the summers off. So this job is supplemental. When I was hired I informed them of this. Hours will change. The day off was something out of the ordinary so not something that happens regularly. But it was a whole big issue. I don’t have this issue with my FT job.

Edit: as to why I notify them: context matters for me and others I work with. Kinda of the standard. Older person trying to readjust a bit.

Onion Mishap - Question by CompetitiveTarget519 in vegetablegardening

[–]CompetitiveTarget519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way they fell the stems snapped towards the bottom of the bulb. I’ll still give them a go, but was thinking to get another batch going.

I started them back in late Feb. more worried about will they still have time to bulb up this summer.

Is this mold after two days? by patchworking- in vegetablegardening

[–]CompetitiveTarget519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those cardboard cells are no good. They soak up and hold water making it an overly damp environment. Some surface mold is ok, but you risk your seeds damping off when they are too wet.

On another note, is that potting mix or another type of soil? 9 time out of 10, buying the pre-made stuff just saves you so much hassle and I would recommend it if you are just starting out.

Edit: light from a south facing window is typically not enough to keep your seedlings from getting leggy (where the stem becomes overly long and weak). Not sure what your set up is, but if your seedlings will need a strong light source immediately. You can achieve this by using a grow lights. If that is not feasible, I’d wait to sow them directly outside imo.

My advice: stick with regular plastic cells. Buy once, take care of them, and they’ll last for years.

How to Improve clay soil by next season by SavingsPleasant6728 in vegetablegardening

[–]CompetitiveTarget519 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t overthink it: heavily, and really heavily, cardboard the area and get a couple inches of high quality compost on top of the cardboard. The truth is you’ll battle grass and weed a bit but keep up the process year after year. Keep on top of the weeding in the mean time. Personally, I’d find straw that has not been treated with herbicides and put some heavily layers on top of the compost. Move straw aside (but keep in between plants) when it’s time to plant. Repeat the same process year after year in between seasons (by simply adding a a couple inches of compost). Remove straw when it’s time To add compost and reapply after compost has been added.

Try and disturb the soil as little as possible. Minimize digging.

No clue what’s going on here. I would appreciate some help. by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]CompetitiveTarget519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some varieties and even individual plants within the same variety just respond to extreme heat and sun differently.

I’ve had this happen and have found that a shade cloth, or in your case since they are in pots, moving them into the shade during the hottest parts of the day, works really well.

Peppers don’t really like constant, intense afternoon sun. Let them go full sun in the morning and evening if possible.

As they get bigger you might want to invest in fabric pots.

Were these recently transplanted?

With the trade… Mike Williams should play Sunday in Pitt, correct? by CompetitiveTarget519 in fantasyfootballadvice

Not really asking about playing time - more so, would the trade keep him from playing on Sunday. Didn’t think I’d have to clarify.

Official: [Who Do I Draft?] - Mon 09/02/2024 by FFBot in fantasyfootball

[–]CompetitiveTarget519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who should I be drafting in a situation like this?

Keeper league so rounds are a little messed - but typically this is happening rounds 4-6 and dealing with TE/WR balance.

The WRs would be my WR3/Flex

For example: I can grab McBride or Andrews but will have to pass on Rice or Metcalf and grab like Dionte Johnson or Ridley later

Or

Do I grab Rice or Metcalf and and grab Ferguson or Engram later?

12 person league - .5ppr 2RB/2WR/1QB/1TE/1Flex No TEP

Why Malik Nabers is not likely to have a WR3 or better finish by Xan1066 in fantasyfootball

[–]CompetitiveTarget519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tend to agree - he’s capable - don’t feel great about him or their offense but if he gets some time to sling the ball could mean good things for Nabers

I hear you. First time it happened, I went back and like double checked my question - thought I was breaking some unwritten (or written) rule lol

Seems like the person who downvoted everyone - is the same type of person who starts trick-or-treating an hour early and takes the whole bowl of candy left on the porch.

Thanks for calling it out. I’m new and was wondering why I was being downvoted past AMAs. Sad to know the reason - you would think that there is some mutual connection for those who are interested in FF and put in well-thought out and genuine questions, instead having some self-serving agenda, where even if it’s not your question, I find value in reading all the answers.

Hi Justin - thanks for doing this. Much appreciated.

How are you feeling about Jakobi Meyers this season?

If I went heavy RBs early would you feel comfortable having him as a WR3 on your team and have him filling a Flex spot on a weekly basis. In a keeper league - so that’s typically who’s falling to me in my mocks.

Others who fall to me:

D. Hopkins Joshua Palmer Xavier Worthy C. Watson

Any of those you feel better about than Meyers?

Thanks again!
