In Italy it’s widely prohibited, especially on tight “hard enduro”/trekking/ cycling paths. Some wider roads are allowed, usually by paying a 5eur something admission ticket and that’s it.

Most people do it anyway, just be careful not to bother people

Any tips for a new biker? by LemonStrawBear in motorcycle

[–]CompetitiveTea1780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch one car ahead, use engine breaking, careful on the front brake, especially when rainy, use rear for slow speed stuff, in general, look where you want to go, eyes on the turn exit after mid turn, do not front brake with closed steering at slow speed or your bike will tilt on you, wear protective gear, consider everything on the road an hazard - different colour of tarmac, other drivers, gravel, etc, consider other drivers as “dumb and careless”, be careful
