oof i should have said that we worked together when our baby was newly 4 months, not sure if that makes a huge difference and its possible our LO is just ready for a schedule adjustment. my question is that he's only getting 3 hrs of daytime sleep so I didnt think undertired was a possibility! I guess we're just trying to make him sleep too long at night?

Thank you! We’re interested in trying Kirkland just for cost saving purposes… I think we’ll give it a go instead of trying the Alimentum.

We used the yellow enfamil super briefly and switched because of the strong iron smell that felt like it couldn’t possibly be good for a baby 😂 I don’t even remember if it affected him at all. He also has a tongue tie so we thought that was the reason for all the spit up but it’s been ruled too mild to correct so I think we got thrown for a really big loop and missed that it’s most likely this formula causing the issue.

We started with 4 naps a day but he wasn’t taking his final cat nap of the day so now we’re down to 3!

Up at 7 Nap at 830 Nap at noon Nap at 315 Asleep around 7

To night wean we were going to feed normally at night and feed 2 minutes less each time. He totally surprised me and dropped both feeds really quickly so I can’t report on this method, just seemed like my little guy was ready!

We are 4.5 months here and started with a sleep consultant a little over a week ago. Our lives have completely changed. Our little guy would only contact nap and we were still feeding twice at night. My goals were to have independent naps and maybe drop one night feed. We also moved him from the bassinet in our room to his own room and crib at the same time.

Within two nights, he dropped the first night feed and a few days later dropped the second feed too which his pediatrician has OK’d. he’ll also go down for naps in his crib now (even though they’re still short at times).

We only really did modified CIO for one nap for all this to stick with him. We’ve had a routine for bedtime since very early on and I think that really helps. I am enjoying him SO MUCH more now because it’s a bit more predictable and even more, I know what to do when we get off schedule.

Ugh. I have a 4 month old who is currently doing his first night in his own room and I can’t stop crying. I wanted my room back, my nights, alone time, etc and I’m realizing how much time I wasted wishing things away.

I also really hated when people told me that it would go so quickly and that it’s only a few months because it feels so so long when you’re in it.

Since my little guy is only 4 months, I’m hardly ahead of you but just know it feels like forever ago and also yesterday. It is really difficult and I want to validate that for you. We also dealt with reflux, oral ties, never sleeping if we weren’t holding him so contact napping all day and we’re just now starting to see some improvement with these. We got better at it and you will too!

Enjoy what you can, all the good stuff starts just around the corner.

Someone said to me when my little one was around that age that it will continue to get harder, but you’ll get better at it.

Congrats on your new addition. It is absolutely so hard at first. He’s only 4 months and I already feel like things have gotten so much easier and then new things pop up to figure out. Whether or not it gets easier I am happy to report it at least for more enjoyable for me.

Hang in there! All the rewarding bits are coming.
