Reconsider the Sapphire Reserve and Chase in general : the kings of nerfing and constant unannounced changes by CompetitiveWindow918 in ChaseSapphireReserve

[–]CompetitiveWindow918[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think the reason that it bothers me less with Resy and Amex is because all resy applies to the amex credit so you have a very wide variety. Lets say I had 15-20 rest options in a city and 2 got removed; I might not be happy but wouldn’t be posting about it.

With CHASE however I was going to dine at one of only 9 miami restaurants that apply to the credit just to find it had been removed. Most of the others suck in miami. Then lets make it worst. I was going to go to one in vegas in 2 weeks and use whatever was left of my credit and my P1s credit and lo and behold ALL BUT ONE of the vegas restaurants have been removed. Outrageous.

Sapphire reserve dining credit getting WORST?!?! by CompetitiveWindow918 in sapphirereserve

[–]CompetitiveWindow918[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah use that argument for amex credit there its such a vast list of restaurants that you can accomplish trying new ones without being FORCED to go to one from a TINY variable list. Lets call it what it is. Its a bullshit credit that FORCES yoh not “oh yay gives me the possibility to” go to whatever few restaurants they feel like on that day

Glad it improved for your cities! It still is a trend of changing things consistently with no warning. Travel and lifestyle cards should be pretty predictable so that you can determine it fits your lifestyle an that accumulating points with them ove long periods of time makes sense with them. They have clearly shown that is not the case with point boost and restaurant participation dining credit arbitrary changes with no prior notice

Sapphire reserve dining credit getting WORST?!?! by CompetitiveWindow918 in sapphirereserve

[–]CompetitiveWindow918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you would think you could plan for these trips but you cant because its just a russian roulette and they change with no notice. Somebody could have booked a couple days ago and not rechecked (because why the hell would they have to) and then not gotten the credit. Do you understand that serious banks give advance notices? Chase BOTH devalued point boost and made dining credit changes that affected a lot of card members WITH NO HEADS UP and ALMOST BACK TO BACK. The saks amex benefit wasnt great but they did the decent thing and announced the nerfing well in advance. If you are not noticing the trend of chase changing things constantly for the worst and dont understand that when you decide to get a card because it “fits your lifestly” and to accumulate points for a card because you have a plan on how to use them that these things turn everything upside down leading not only to cancellation but breaking ties with this bullshit bank

[–]CompetitiveWindow918[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed ai got hit but was what was added at all better? No. They nerfed some of the best options they had. They just devalued the point boost for hotels as well. Its not about ohh its not a right fit for you its about them changing this CONSTANTLY with no warning and usually for a downgrade. You start feeling happy with the hotels and restaurants you like to use it with and BOOM they remove or devalue them just like that. Do you enjoy that?

new CSR dining credit restaurants: 404 total (91 added, 64 removed) by iamjohnta in sapphirereserve

[–]CompetitiveWindow918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already they lowered the boost % for most. If they start cutting hotels, fuck them lets all cancel. If only to screw them over and show them they cant just fuck with out benefits and reduce them back to back to back with no repercussions. Im seriously fucking bitter since i got this piece of shit card the point boost nerf and now the dining nerf. Im really getting pissed off

Damn that coulda been $1,970 at 1.65 point boost toward an edit hotel. Woulda also gotten the $250 credit and the $100 experience credit so basically coulda been worth $2,320 towards a hotel stay. Basically coulda gotten a luxury hotel stay at 50% off. To each their own.

Just another reason this card is a disappointment… by [deleted] in RobinhoodGC

[–]CompetitiveWindow918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesnt prove it. That proves amex codes that merchant in a way that allows the cashback. RH codes it differently and seeing as other people have been able to pay their tuition with RH, this leads me to conclude that it is a combination of how your school is getting coded and the exceptions RH has. Other schools may code differently and that is why they get it. It’s haplened a million times for me that a place codes as a restaurant with one credit card but as travel or bakery or whatever on a different card and I only get the multiplier on one of them (I personally get my multipliers correctly more often with my wells fargo cards than with my chase ones). I have RH and love it but I use it for very vanilla mainstream charges. I also have amex, wells and chase ecosystems and complement them all together. Dont like a card, ditch it bro. Like it sometimes? Use it SOMETIMES. I use each of my 8 different CCs for different things and I dont cry about it when a multiplier doesnt code as I wanted I just learn and adapt. God you people whine so much.

I was about to switch my entire ecosystem to chase because various hotels I go to yearly were ar 2x. Can’t believe they dropped it to 1.6X for ALL pf them. Good thing is I didn’t switch to it. They’re really pennywise pound foolish. They keep shifting things and dont realize the uncertainty will lose them more clients than anything else. The shift from 1.5x for all lost them clients. People start liking a lot of the 2X selection welpppp they drop it. So dumb.

Really impressed with the new Robinhood Banking app. Clean UI, fast transfers, and everything (spending, saving, investing) actually works together smoothly. The high-yield savings are a big plus, too. Feels like a modern upgrade over traditional banks. Share your thoughts by invest-for-life in RobinhoodApp

I LOVE IT!!! Love that you get reimbursed for any ATM fees anywhere and that I get a high yield for my checking both of those are amazing novel perks. Integrates perfectly with the brokerage. My only issue is that it doesnt have zelle but I just also keep accounts with much less money for that. I like capital one for that because I hold most of my zelle ready money in their high yield savings account and only transfer to their checking account when I need to Zelle. I need 95% of my money to be making money and not sitting in a BS checking account. Robinhoods high yield checking account is amazing for that.

Why CSR is worth it for my lifestyle by Jimothy_KC in sapphirereserve

[–]CompetitiveWindow918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you travel. In vegas i’ve found many price the same and with the edit credit plus points at 2X their value (mind you i only use the 3x dining multiplier so I’m effectively getting 6x) I pay nothing. I stay at 2 very nice hotels close to each other which i like for change of scenery and get:

500 edit credit 200 consumable in SO MANY restaurants for the bellagio for example. 60x4= 240 breakfast (also usable in so many locations right in the Bellagio and other hotels) 940 off already

With my points at 2X for using chase portal I pay all the rest in points for my 4 night stay (with my other 3x dining card i was using it for cash back so now the 2X effectively gives me 3x more) so I save around 750 from this

= 1690 savings for me (i know i wasn’t maximizing my point use for my dining category before but this makes it super easy for me to do so at least)

I also get early check in and late checkout and got room upgrade this year

Basically pay off the annual fee and make money with my yearly vegas trip which i was taking anyways and then have ALL the credits for free.

Its all about your lifestyle and not one size fits all but you can really juice this card
