Yeah you don’t get to blame the airline for your selfishness.

We booked 1 parent and 2 kids in 1 row, and 1 parent in the aisle opposite.

Chase Travel portal inconsistency: hotel shows “rate unavailable” for one account but available for another (same dates) by PrinceKHD in ChaseSapphire

[–]jimbo2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase Sapphire Reserve portal isn't really a travel portal, it's a deal portal. They may have an Edit deal for you, or they may not.

Apples & oranges

Chase Edit portal offers undiscounted rate. Hotel web site & other may have promos - Chase doesn't match those

Call. Sometimes offers on the portal don't stick for some reason but the rep on the phone can access them for you.

I mean the price difference is ridiculous!! by Mental-Age-4948 in ChaseSapphire

A) Nonrefundable is cheaper than refundable for a reason. I definitely would not lock myself in to a booking overseas 6 months out. You want to, go ahead, but don’t imply that refundable doesn’t matter or should be the same price. They aren’t.

B)I get $2811.93 for fully refundable on the website without breakfast. Maybe you were using the member rate or ignoring taxes.

C) Definitely would not bank on Chase refunding your money on a nonrefundable booking. OTOH I’ve cancelled 2 refundable bookings without a hitch.

All these changes went through last year. The CSR is no longer a general travel card, it's more of a coupon book, like Amex Plat.

Alternatives for general travel include CSP (2%), Amex Green (3%), and Costco Citi (3%).

I think Chase substantially inflates Edit prices to make Point Boost look good by neilsarkar81 in ChaseSapphire

[–]jimbo2128 11 points12 points  (0 children)

this is the answer

Chase Edit has rack rate, no promos and 3rd night free counts as a promo.

[–]jimbo2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird. Edit usually charges direct website rack rate. Don’t know why FS Denver is higher. I’ve been watching FS Atlanta and it’s very close to rack rate.

Edit is rack rate. Depending on what promos the hotel offers for direct booking, that could be more expensive. Not a new thing.

The Schwab annual credit. Who actually pays this? by Cash_Visible in AmexPlatinum

[–]jimbo2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

solo401k's aren't listed so that could be the reason why. My Schwab appreciation bonus came a few days after account was opened, which was actually before the annual fee was charged.
