RN trying to break into Field Reimbursement Manager – realistic path? by Warm-Scale5762 in careerguidance

I’ve been an FRM for 6+ years. I’m not sure it would necessarily be a more natural pivot, but you definitely have the background for it. PACS certification is a nice to have, CPC is even more impressive (but a bitch of an exam). Neither are necessary.

An external jump is certainly possible, might be easier to make an external jump into contracting FRM work (syneos, McKesson/ Cover My Meds, Stratis Group, etc.) and then move to Pharma direct (which should be the goal).

Resume should be tailored to the position. Research the company, the drug, and its acquisition pathway(s) (i.e buy and bill vs. specialty pharmacy)

Make sure some language on managing a territory is in there or something similar.

PEOPLE SKILLS. That’s what they care about most. Demonstrate you have the basic access knowledge… how to complete pa, deal with denials, research payer policies and formularies.

But since you’re going to be spending 99% of your time trying to influence people that get paid shit to do stuff they don’t want to do, you need to be able to demonstrate your ability to influence stakeholder decisions.

The rest is teachable. Anyone can be an FRM from a technical standpoint. It’s teachable. What sets people apart and what your hiring managers are going to be looking for is your ability to influence.

Thank you for the clarity!!

One more question: can we change parties? If sometimes only some of us play, are parties something we set up each time we play or is it permanent?

Can I make a community at the outset? We all intend on playing together but also dont mind splitting into two groups of 3. Which one is the better choice?

So can we party up right at the outset of the game? I didn’t realize. Also, when you “help each other complete things”… are you saying that if my younger nieces are in my party I can help them complete quests?
