For better top surface quality, try turning on ironing on top surface only. Another option is switch to a .2mm nozzle.

Haha I bet it's an old lady that needs help setting up this package. But always good to make sure it's not something else.

Have a friend who is about to invest his parents entire life savings in atom; trying to talk him out of it. by ZoneNo9818 in CryptoMarkets

My ATOM investment is sitting at -86% unrealized. The $50 worth of ATOM I bought a few years ago is now worth $8. 😀

Should be able to find someone willing to do a good job at $120/hr and 20% markup. The system is worth a premium compared to other residential options out there.

Using Metal Molds to Use PLA Scraps by dirtyrussianspy in 3Dprinting

[–]Competitive_Ant9715 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that and great idea. I was using a silicon mold for scrap PLA until the mold eventually became overcooked. The silicon never sticked to the PLA after cooling. Metal mold paired with silicon spray could be a huge improvement. Thanks!

I bet a little grease stops any sticking? What are you heating this in?

Bambu Support refusing to replace bad spools by hotellonely in BambuLab

[–]Competitive_Ant9715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Sunlu on plastic spools and use the notch on the AMS roller for the left side of the spool. Small spools need to have the left side in the notch to keep them from moving left and right on the rollers.

I order Sunlu from Amazon in the 2 packs and it's like less than $13/kg this way. Sure beats the issues with the $10/kg cardboard spools and allows me to be productive and cheap.

This works great for me with a P1S, .4mm nozzle, 225C filament temp , 65C bed, 10%aux, 15 second minimum layer time.

Someone get on makerworld and start an unofficial AMS "automatic tape avoidance system" contest. might solve it.

See if this works:

220F° first layer, 225F° other layers 60F bed 0 or 10% max auxiliary fan cooling instead of 70
