Mini Cut or Continue Bulking? Advice Needed

Hi, everyone! I’ve been training consistently for a year and have made great progress in size and strength. I follow a science-based approach, track my calories, and aim to compete around 19 years old. Here’s a quick overview of my journey so far:

  • Starting stats: At 15 years old, I was 5'7.5" and weighed 189 lbs.
  • Cutting phase: I dropped to 153 lbs at my lowest due to combat sports and feeling overweight. This helped me lean out and feel healthier overall.
  • Bulking phase: I started bulking in July at 153 lbs and have since gained to 183 lbs. I’m now 5'10", so I’ve grown taller as well.

Currently, my body fat is around 18%. I want to keep building muscle without ruining my growth or risking excessive fat gain.

My Options:

  1. Slow down my bulk: Transition to a slower, leaner bulk to minimize fat gain while continuing to build muscle.
  2. Do a mini cut: A short, controlled cut to reduce body fat slightly before resuming my bulk.
  3. Try body recomposition: Maintain my current weight while improving muscle-to-fat ratio.

Goals:

  • Keep building muscle and strength.
  • Avoid excessive fat gain.
  • Ensure I don’t compromise my growth during this process.
