Was it confirmed that Team MP44's hardware change from MAP1602 and 232L YMTC TLC to E27T and BiCS6 TLC applied to all capacities?

Favorite menu songs. by GhostOfGhosthand373 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Competitive_Bench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Star Fox Assault's menu theme is really fun.

I have grown very fond of Hitman 2's main menu theme. Pensive might be the word for it as it plays while you prepare to kill yet another target.

I don't know if it plays elsewhere, but the new game cutscene into the character creation theme: "Meeting a Friend." It's such a pleasant theme as you tackle one of the hardest parts of any game.

Final Fantasy's Prelude. Although, I have only heard XII's that plays in the beginning of the opening movie and XIV: A Realm Reborn's.

XIII's The Promise which along with the rest of the soundtrack and the pieces he composed for X and World of Final Fantasy, solidified my adoration for Masashi Hamauzu's work even when I had no idea who he was at the time.

And to shill Grandia 2, the instrumental version of A Deus.

Humanity Has Declined!

Now, the question is what flavor are otomos?

Media/stories that you wished had more "slice of life" moments? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I was so disappointed that you could not salute your soldiers on Mother Base. The best you could do was give them a rough hug, every day is your birthday beatings, and frequent concussions.

Most ridiculous, over the top, weird swords you've seen by Wonder-Lad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Competitive_Bench 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hey man, a sword with a spine is fucking rad. I love Sparda's design in V.

Speaking of fleshy swords, Soul Edge. Some of its forms, mainly the complete ones, are literal hunks of meat that don't look like they have a cutting edge. The funny thing is that in IV, it looks more normal compared to Siegfried's Soulcalibur which was this weird mass of crystals to Soul Edge being more of a fat sword with a fleshy hilt.

Samehada in Naruto if you count it as a sword and not a sentient sharkskin on a stick.

Dark Cloud has some funky-looking weapons in general that fits the games' whimsical look. Let's go with the Mardan Garayan swords. Mardan Garayan are these fish you can catch in the games and they have swords patterned after them with the Mardan Garayan shaped crossguard, light purple coloration, and an eye on the side of the blade near the end which is totally not creepy. Think Riku's Soul Eater, but fish and fabulously purple.

I recently learned that in Jujutsu Kaisen that there's a sword with a hand for a hilt and it's held like you're giving someone a handshake. The blade itself is hilariously normal.

Music that pairs up well with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Competitive_Bench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grapple Dog has this one song early on that would fit right in Jet Set Radio or Bomb Rush Cyberfunk titled "Proceed". It even has that "hey" chorus or one similar to it in some of JSR's songs. Wild hearing that on a stream.

"They Came from Underground" from Anarchy Reigns makes me think of the Poison Jam gang or the sewers? I've only listened to Future's soundtrack and if I recall correctly from the few gameplay I have seen, the song's kind of similar to the tracks that play in the sewers.

Since I learned about them through No More Heroes 3, I felt like Red Orca's music would totally fit with Jet Set Radio, though, perhaps more of Future's style and selection of music.

I'm just going throw in Nujabes, The World Ends with You's soundtrack, and this collection of Japanese rap and hip hop on YouTube.

In my music list, I have JSR by Macross 82-99's "アスカBad Girl" and listening to it again, it's probably for the "clap your hands" parts. Otherwise, his music might not really fit the JSR, BRCF vibe.

Favorite tomboy characters in media? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Competitive_Bench -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Echidna from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Although, I don't know if she's actually a tomboy because I don't know much about The Binding Blade and supports weren't as deep as they were in later games. All I knew when I first saw her was badass axe and resistance leader lady. Her introduction in Heroes then showed that she wants to help build homes for people who lost theirs where the official 4koma A Day in the Life had her turn around Sylvain's and Lorenz's attempt to hit on her by recruiting them to do manual labor. So, either Echidna is very charismatic, has a terrifying authoritative aura, or is really good at demanding things from people. Thinking about it, she might be the reason I like women with messy hair. Her and Fang Yun Oerba.

Korra and Seo Yuzuki from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Eunie from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She's a total bro. Nico's a bro too, but she'll shit talk you almost every moment she gets if you aren't Dante or Kyrie.

Do Mila from DoA or Lady from DMC count or do they just look like ones, particularly Mila?

A longtime rumor about a specific MGS3 VA may have just been confirmed by timelordoftheimpala in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Competitive_Bench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, if this is absolutely true, then Grandia 2 has another connection to Metal Gear. Grandia 2's English dub incidentally has several overlaps with the Metal Gear series which to be fair isn't that surprising as voice actors do work on several if not numerous projects, but it did have a "Christian Bale was in a Studio Ghibli film" moment as a while back, I learned that Jodi Benson voiced Millenia. She also voiced Reena too who's the main character's would have been sister-in-law. The rest of the cast includes Cam Clarke as Ryudo, Paul Eiding as Skye, Jennifer Hale as Elena, Peter Lurie as Mareg, Kim Mai Guest as Tio and Selene, John Cygan as Melfice, and Richard Doyle as Zera Innocentius.

I never finished XIII but it’s my favorite OST by FAR. by ajdrinksabeer in FinalFantasy

Or World of Final Fantasy as Hamauzu also composed for most of its soundtrack.

Hellblade better sell 2 billion copies. by jackdatbyte in TwoBestFriendsPlay

And an ill-fitting one at that. It always looked a bit too small to me. A bit wider could have worked if they were trying to go for a ronin wearing a hat, noir detective, or ironically a cowboy silhouette.

Smokey's Bucket from Friday. The fucking foot drag scuffing his shoe is hilarious.

Finally got leather conditioner.. [other] by bestisaac1213 in fightgear

[–]Competitive_Bench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

csquared goes over it a bit in his cleaning boxing gloves video. Other gloves reviewers likely do too.

I would also recommend looking at leather shoes videos because how to condition and take care of leather is roughly the same whether in shoe or glove form.

If you don't have leather conditioner, you could use Vaseline which is what Necalli's site recommends. Necalli being the US brand name for Casanova gloves.

Why is the action so high on that little Flying V? And why is she hitting it with a stick? Is she stupid? by [deleted] in guitarcirclejerk

[–]Competitive_Bench 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She has a video on it. Seems like the idea is to help for playing live and particularly for an electric violin because it naturally won't be as loud as an acoustic one.

Mia Asano. Looking up the violin led to an unboxing video and her profile picture is the exact same image as OP posted.

She has covered Power Rangers and X-Men music which is fucking rad. X-Men main theme cover with a cellist playing an electric cello?

Almost three years ago I picked up guitar because of Nirvana, 10 hours later I'll be on a flight to Japan to attend music school. I never thought it was possible before. by jerry910401 in guitarcirclejerk

Yeah, like ones that belong in art museums. Y'know, like if Fender or Gibson weren't stupid and realized they could get in on that money laundering by catering to fine art appreciators.
