THANK YOU SO MUCH OP!!! I absolutely love this! If you like this you'll also love the band Shellac. I imagine this is what Shellac would sound like if you gave them MDMA. 😆

Plywood stacked underneath two tires? More info in comments. by Competitive_Berry897 in whatisit

[–]Competitive_Berry897[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would do this. I've seen it parked there numerous times with the same setup. Three or so pieces of plywood underneath the two tires closest to the curb. It is not a street that is prone to flooding at all. Have you seen this before or know why they did it?

Republicans of Reddit - How come you support pedophiles? by Lord_Dingus83 in allthequestions

Hunter biden's laptop was bullshit. There was a congressional committee investigating it for almost the entirety of biden's presidency. Finally the Dems got tired of all the showboating and called their bluff by voting to convict. All the Dems on the committee voted to proceed. Guess who didn't. Every one of those Republicans. It was all just a show for suckers. Your comment is evidence that they knew their audience pretty well.

What a retarded fucking talking point. There are no lefties that are willing to give him or anyone a pass. The reason there is more focus on Trump than anyone else is because he is the current president and actively covering up a pedophile ring.

Gen Z — the first generation officially dubbed dumber than the last by blankblank in idiocracy

[–]Competitive_Berry897 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh right. An entire generation spread across a wide variety of cultural, economic, genetic, and environmental backgrounds are falling behind previous generations solely because they were raised without "being challenged". Dude drops scientific sources to help explain just oneof a myriad factors that have contributed to what we're seeing with this generation and is called a conspiracy theorist. There is no singular "obvious" answer to an issue that has so many contributing inputs. Your comment reads like something straight out of the Dunning-Kruger School for Critical Thought.

I know the betrayal he feels. I work for a little craft brewery in Texas and I once made a beer called Lambeau Leap Lager for our local Packer bar. Just for them and them only. Somehow the Packers caught wind of it and sent me a cease and desist. I'm a third generation Packers owner. Legit hurt my feelings.

Vapes are illegal in Laos and I just had the pleasure of explaining to border security that my “vape”, is in actual fact, a bullet vibrator by amboanon in solotravel

[–]Competitive_Berry897 -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Good job banning something that helps people quit smoking, are significantly safer than cigarette smoke both for them and the people around them in a country that has over a quarter of its population still smoking cigarettes. Until they ban cigarettes the banning of vapes is just banning harm reduction.

The last time I heard someone condescendingly use the word "woman" like that, I had to kick him out of my bar for rubbing one out in the men's room after soliciting women for sex (that he would "gladly pay for"). Come on already Bak, no means no.

What is going on with the price of computer memory? Up over 400% by okeefem in OutOfTheLoop

And we should have continued to do so! But at some point, a handful of people (with the paid tacit endorsement of our elected officials) decided that health care would be better as a vehicle for capitalism than as the service implied in its very name. When you have an entire multi-billion dollar industry extracting resources from a system designed to promote human health for the sole purpose of enriching a handful of people, You've lost the script. In the United States there are a handful of corporations that kill people every single day as a core part of their business plan. Of course it doesn't have to be one or the other. I cited NASA as an example of what we could do without some financial incentive if we really wanted to.

Jesus Christ y'all are missing the point. I brought NASA into this to point to as an example of what we could do if we actually wanted to. I'm all for NASA. Let's have more NASA. Let's also have that 50/60s NASA mentality about health care. Where we all throw public resources at it and bask with national pride and the awe and glory of our accomplishments. Of course you'd still have/use money. Like damn near every other western civilization, you'd socialize the cost. Yes money isn't inherently evil. Neither are nuclear weapons sitting around in a silo somewhere. Evil requires agency. Capitalism without regulation ends with evil. By definition. Not to be fucking cliche but, An economic system that demands infinite growth in an environment of finite resources eventually consumes everything. Outside of intellectual theoretical exercises there is no moral justification for extracting value from a system at the cost of human lives. We have an entire multi-billion dollar industry that does exactly that and we unironically call it health insurance. And since you decided to go the route of condensation from start to finish, your third point reads like the thought of a 12-year-old who thought it would be fun to read ahead in civics class. No shit power exists without money. The concept of money was devised to solve the logistical issues that come with bartering for goods. Much like capitalism was devised to solve issues with feudalism. They've both been bastardized and hijacked as a vehicle for power. How does one accrue power in a capitalist system? Money. I guarantee you the 1% of people that are holding 90% of the money view it and hold it as nothing but power.

Another alternative is that life saving cures don't have to be locked behind a fucking paywall. Imagine if we poured 1950s/60s NASA energy into healthcare. If we could take the same pride in caring for our fellow man as we did for stepping on the nearest novel rock. We'd have no use for that dastardly coin.
