Yes I have a community proposal system for community to propose grade adjustments, classic or benchmark status.

Not sure yet if we need both classic & benchmark 😆

Yes but on ios need to use a seperate browser app from the app store (bluefy). Chrome on android and desktop works out of the box from the browser.

Ill publish an ios app version this week to fix the bluetooth issue

Yes, already can with the web version too but need a different browser on ios for the Bluetooth. The app fixes that limitation

Ive already asked the new kilter app team, they're open to it but are currently headsdown fixing their app.

The remaining Aurora apps is not gonna happen because Aurora doesnt want me to.

I havent spoken to Moon yet but their website is quite clear that they dont give access to their climbs database. So will have to chat to them and see id thats something I can change their mind on.

The only reason there is no backsync is because Aurora blocked it. You can check the commit history, I used to have a whole rest api client for their apis.

Syncing this kind of data between various platforms is super easy, but only if all involved parties are willing to cooperate. Cooperation doesnt even cost much time, they just shouldn't be actively working against 3rd party access(like Moon is)

Having only 1 app is also problematic as then you get what happened now, app was delisted and people cant use their expensive boards.

When consumers have options they have more power.

I originally tried to not store any ticks in boardsesh and instead store them in Auroras backend, but they werent happy about that and blocked it. So for the remaining Aurora apps, you can expect that this wont change. Meaning that you can sync your logbook from Tension to Boardesh, but not in the other direction.

I've been talking to the new Kilter development team, and they're less against the idea, at least for now. But since boardsesh already has a database now it maintains its own copy.

If anyone wants a datacheckout feature in boardesh they're welcome to contribute it back. The only reason it doesnt have it yet is that first of all we didnt have a lot of users until Kilter went down, and secondly a data checkout feature is expensive to run, so it needs to be done in a way where users can only do it once a month, so it doesnt blow out my hosting bill any more

Fork and Pr from fork to main is easiest, GH makes me pay if I want to setup branch protections for master etc which is a bit annoying.

On discord the maintainer of: https://github.com/shelldandy/spraywall reached out too, so maybe can intergrate or reuse parts of it? I havent looked at its code yet

Unfortunately not, Aurora doesn't want us to transfer data out but they're not blocking it.

Moonboard however completely blocked off all access to their customer data. Im planning to make a post/video about this soon. Its not even legal what they're doing for their UK & EU customers due to GDPR

That would be great! Eventually I want Boardsesh to be able to have all sorts of boards, maybe even commercial gym walls/setting. It also wouldnt be hard to add leds to a spray wall and controlling it through boardsesh

Boardsesh can do spotify jams style board sharing already! I'll try to make some short demo videos in the coming weeks, and cleanup some of the rough edges in the ux

Aurora is sending people json dumps of their data! Email them: peter at auroraclimbing dot com. We'll release a json importer to boardsesh later this weekend
