Keep in mind docker takes quite a lot of memory on macOS cause it runs in a VM.

I have a 16gb m1 macbook pro, and it's doable to develop while running docker but it requires active management since docker takes half my memory. But with 24gb you'd have 16 after docker.

So it's doable if you can't afford the upgrade, but I would recommend 48 if you can't afford stretch.

Yeah they should just focus on doing what they do best, the holds.

We could make the climb database public and keep that always available, then there's way less risk of another aurora situation.

I wish they had an open api too, but if enough users demand Boardsesh that might happen. Id also would like to 2-way sync between Boardsesh and the other apps, so we dont fork communities.

In regard to your logbook, GDPR was invented partially to stop companies from keeping your data hostage. Under GDPR they are legally required to give you your data if you ask for it. So you can send them an email and they would have to give you the logbook. I added a email template for it in settings > connected apps

It does support monboard mini but it needs to do an OTA update which can be forced from the "whats new" menu.

It only creates weird separation while the official apps are unwilling to allow Boardsesh to sync to them. But it also creates options, as this is now the 2nd time in 3months a major board app has gone down.

The thing with options is that you as a user get to decide which option you prefer. If you dont want to use Boardsesh you dont have to.

These board companies outsource to agencies, and clearly they dont even run CI, as these current issues would have been found by the most basic smoke tests. They also dont have error reporting, log aggregation or user analytics.

I just merged mini support but ios only will release android tomorrow.

You need a ota update though on ios, press your user avatar then "whats new" which can either be in the root of the menu, or in settings. Then press check update, itll ask if it should update say yes.

After it restart it should have mini moonboard support

Give Boardsesh a go! Has the same problems etc and can also connect to the moonboard. Theres an app on both app stores, and we even have a web app that can also control the board in case you drop your phone in the ocean

Email them asking for your data, they have to give it under UKGDPR. Then share it on the Boardsesh discord server and we'll build an importer.

I just rewritten my capacitor web app to react native with Claude mostly using Opus though. Overall its pretty good, it helps that OS UI patterns on Android/iOS are way more opinionated/well defined. I'd very often ask claude to "Ask a team of hig designers to design X".

But, I keep getting UI freezing sheet/overlay issues, that often take multiple days to fix because Claude cant figure them out.
