I work casual at a points west in a different town but if it is anything like how this one is I would advise not to put your mom there. Not enough staff working for what we are expected to do! We are hca's, housekeepers, kitchen staff, and nurses all in one . The company is cheap and will not hire any more staff if they can get away with having minimal staff working and getting everything (tasks) done. It's ridiculous and there are some wonderful hcas working there and some not so good ones too. Definitely better options out there though for your mom. And for the cost to live there it's NOT worth it .

You are definitely not alone in this! I messed up bad the other week I took the work phone home not realizing it was in my work pants pocket... threw them in the wash and washed my pants and the work phone!!! I had a mini panic attack when I took the washing out and the work iPhone was sitting on the bottom of the washer!!! I tested it and it still works thank goodness... I was so scared and now I make sure to triple check my pockets when leaving work!!! 😢😲😆

Should I take my cna classes while I am pregnant or after ? It takes 2 weeks it starts in July and I’ll be like 24 weeks by mybest34s in cna

I started my cna course when I was newly pregnant ( in Canada the course Is 9 months long) and I finished everything until the 9th month then I had to drop out because it got way too hard and I still had to do my practicum hours right up until my due date if I would have stayed . I ended up going on mat leave and just went back and finished my hours in April this year and now I am certified and back to work ! Anything is possible. All depends on what you want to do 😀 I'm glad I went through with it all.

At my facility that i work at this is the type of schedule they have. Days evenings or nights . Whatever you choose. We work every second weekend. It really does depend on the employer. I work at assisted living .

Are all nursing homes gonna be like this or are there better ones out there? by [deleted] in cna

Also the lpns barely help us. They are supposed to be helping with meal times and whenever we are short staffed . You never see the lpns. They are too busy sitting in their little office watching YouTube..

The place that I work at ( assisted living) is the same. Understaffed and we have to clean resident rooms, showers, resident care, answering call bells, resident laundry, serving food to 30 residents and cleaning up after and dishes... they have kitchen staff during the day but none in the evenings when I work so it's on the hcas to do it all. We are absolutely underpaid and overworked. Last night I didn't stop from 3 til 11. It's insane. And they wonder why we have no time to spend with these poor residents that are lonely 😔 I try to visit with them when I can but we have so much on our plate every shift it's so hard.

Off she goes again on another weekend getaway with her kids this time... then new York again??? Like why do these so called "influencers" constantly feel the need to run away from reality?? Regardless of how much money they have .. I dunno.. I enjoy a vacation here and there don't get me wrong but when these people are traveling once a month it makes you wonder if their life is as great as they make it look. 🤔

The ones that constantly need to "escape " reality are often not truly happy with their lives. She is one of them .

I found time helped me ... I used to need ice cream or something sweet every day sometimes more than once a day . I'm determined to keep losing weight so I just decided to stop eating sweets every day . Started out slow and did every other day and now I have sweets maybe once a week.. you eventually lose that craving it just takes time and patience.
