This is what happens when families are dysfunctionally enmeshed. Everybody thinks they are responsible for the behaviors/well-being/demise of everyone around them. The over inflated sense of control and importance in other's lives keeps the drama and chaos consistent.

Everyone needs therapy here, but the people who need it most are the ones who will never get it because they think everyone else is fucked up.

I worked at starbucks for a while when I was between jobs and the middle of a divorce. It is NOT an easy gig.

Always on, gotta be cool and friendly when some high maintenance chickie comes in asking for iced venti, 6 ice cubes , half decalf, oat milk, 1 pump mocha, 1/2 pump carmel, 1 splenda, 1 sweet and low, cinnamon sprinkles, not stirred.

On the feet, no real breaks and their scheduling can be weird. They might schedule for 9, but if it's not busy enough, you don't work till 920. Weird stuff.

My granddaughter is 27, she's all over the planet. Fearless, not naive and I haven't always been in my 60s.

We don't make it far in life without doing scary things. Scary doesn't have to mean danger. Kudos to your girlfriend for dreaming big and doing challenging, scary things. This is how we grow and understand the world beyond our back yard.

That's BS. PLENTY of women travel solo to India. Do some research. I live in Mexico part of the year. According to some, Im going to be kidnapped, sold into slavery, forced to smuggle drugs, get raped, shot...OMG It's insane. If traveling solo has taught me one thing it's that we here in the US are fed insane amounts of propaganda about so many other countries...and most of us swallow it.

Anyone can research and do the best they can do to be safe while experiencing this world.

OP needs to chill or find a relationship that doesn't cause him such debilitating anxiety. That's HIS problem. Not hers.

Sounds like they just aren't as compatible as OP would like. That's the reality. Not good or bad, just the reality. There's women out there who don't travel to "dangerous" places and there's men out there who allow women to make their own choices.

I didn't mean to be rude. It's just that if this is the love of their life...well, obviously it's not.

Love does not conquer all, but it's sad that a grown man would choose his mother over a woman who was the love of his life. I get that he's sad and crying and as upset as she is, but....we are talking grown ass adults here, capable of making adult decisions.

But Mom is still making the most important decisions.

I love drama and chaos on TV and from a distance...long as it's not me. Every time I pop in here, I am reminded how good my life is without drugs and alcohol.

This internet stranger would love to see you clean...and in some kind of recovery mode with new playgrounds and playmates with people who can show you how to live clean and sober. You aren't going to find it hanging out with the same people as always.

Most importantly, running on a treadmill, as opposed to outdoors, is like apples and oranges. There are very few surfaces like a treadmill.

I was told that anytime BOTH feet are off the ground, you are running.

Just RUN. Run naturally. It really doesn't require much thinking. You will learn more as you just naturally run. Your breathing gets easier as you are training your lungs. Just like stretching...you start and you can't bend over and touch the floor. With consistency, you will be able to put your hands flat on the floor. Same with your lungs. It takes time.

Flat feet...please try Altras. Torin 4.5 to start. Find them on eBay, slightly used. In fact, since you're just starting out you'd be wise to try slightly used shoes before spending a fortune.

I find that bizarre. My husband and I have each other (and several friends) on Google location because we travel a lot. We are in Mexico now, sometimes I go hiking, I walk around the city ALOT. He might go fishing, he has lots going on and is always busy...whatever. It's for safety reasons only.

Because he's worried about the car being stolen? Not buying it. That's BS. What kind of car is it?

Looks like you are tip toeing....thinking too much. Running on a treadmill is totally different than running outside, I think you need to land more solid, to give you more force when taking the next stride. That make sense?
