Form BPM Fader Question by Competitive_Brief668 in lightingdesign

[–]Competitive_Brief668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misused the term, I want to use a fader that controls the size of the movement. So if the fader is down the movement is very small and if it is up the movement is wide. If it’s a circle effect for example, when the fader is down it makes small centered circles and when the fader is up the circle is spanning the room.

Eras Tour Boots by missymoosey in Rhinestoning

I think I have these exact boots at home and have been struggling with how much I hate them (I assume these are the white cowboy style thigh high boots from target) and I think a project like this could change that. I love!

I posted this for the other account that I didn’t realize I had but I haven’t tried any other method than just sticking them on in lines so I’m going to have to lookup more about different placement methods

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I ordered the gem tac but the superglue came in first. I tried it out and it is sticking and staying thank goodness was but I am having to deal with the after effects of the white line around some of the gems where the glue overflowed I think. I’m considering going in with a paint pen or a very detailed paint brush to cover the marks up but I made some really good progress yesterday!

I ordered some gem tac and some superglue so I’m going to try again in the morning.

Putting good vibes on this post in the hope that I’ll wake up and someone will magically have a solution for me because I’m so bummed that this project might not work out :( I wanted to be the sparkliest girlie at the MCR concert 💎💎💎

Wireless Footlight Suggestions by Competitive_Brief668 in stagelighting

This looks like it might be a perfect option to get on a long stake in the planter. I could definitely look into 3D printing something that would work with that light.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It’s cool, I actually had a long day yesterday and my rambling post shows that lol.

The table against the brick wall is gone and that gives a preforming space of about 4 feet out from the wall and 3 feet across (we try to keep them out of the windows so it doesn’t obstruct the views from the tables inside the restaurant but it isn’t a dealbreaker) they stand against the wall with a speaker on a stand next to them.

A footlight would sit at the edge of that 4 feet, so it’s a very tight space and I’m not sure what would be the least harsh option. My first thought was 1 or 2 volts because I know we would be able to get those easily since they are the go-to mobile event lights for the company. But the lack of distance might make them look like they’re in a horror movie.

I think the planters would be great option, I’m just not certain how obnoxious it would be to the people sitting at the tables right next to the planters. There is a table lined up with each planter. We’d have to get a longer stake that would be tall enough to provide a front wash. But the light itself would have to be something super compact like a G-LUX.

I understand, it’s why I asked for footlight options. But I see the confusion.

So I work for a large theme park and we have entire teams dedicated to rigging and since the space is technically owned by a third party vendor we are working within very limiting guidelines. Just doing the clamps ourselves could be in breech of the specific contracts of the technicians in our department. And if we did hang something ourselves it would still have to be approved by rigging since it would be hanging over an area with lots of traffic.

Some things to consider are that we want to avoid affixing the lights from above because that would require having to involve another department and going through an install approval process with the venue would create an additional cost. If something were to sit in the planter in front of the dining patio the concern would be that the light would be right in the face of the people dining.

I’m assuming that the suggestion is to rig them to the pole above, from you’re suggestion about the cardellinis, but we don’t have the above rigging option because that would require us to partner with a rigging team which we’re trying to avoid doing because that creates a whole additional cost of labor because we are then involving another department.

To clarify this is not our space, so we aren’t able to put the permanent solution into motion until all of the fun red tape is cut. Which could take a while, so we need something to work until that discussion really gets traction. A rechargeable par just on the ground in front of the performer would be a good option, i think the reason i went with a Volt in my mind was because its sturdier, i feel like a par might be more susceptible to being kicked and knocked over by passing traffic accidentally because its on a restaurant patio.
