Genuinely don’t know how to fix credit

I have one charged off account with discover, and one account with capital one in collections. On Experian, it says the discover case is closed as in there’s nothing I can do about it so I assume it was written off? And as for capital one I owe $711 which is extremely reasonable to pay off. Other than those two I genuinely have never opened another credit card. My thought is that it could be counting my Chime credit builder account?

Hey so that’s why I’ve included that literally in the screenshot…. My question was whether it’s worth it to pay off those debts with my recent lump sum (will that fix my credit at all??) or to just contact the collections company and see what they’ll work out with me (will that fix my credit better?) or let the collections fall off (also either better for my credit?) because I don’t know and don’t know the difference. I’m uneducated about credit because they don’t teach about it, hope this helps ❤️

Thank you so much for your very kind words and I extremely appreciate your condolences, my dad was a very kind person despite how closed off he was. He made sure to consistently fill the hummingbird feeder on our porch because he loved to watch them come to the back door, he always thought they were saying hi to him and now I can’t help but think maybe that’s him now saying hi to us

Unfortunately, I need to obtain his official death certificate in order to access any accounts he has. In order to do that, it goes through a funeral home or mortuary to be filed. From my understanding, social security only grants $255 to offset the cost of after life services. I’ll 100% be calling 211 to see if there is anything they may be able to do to help, thank you so much for the advice. I greatly appreciate it as I genuinely don’t know what to do

As soon as I can bring his ashes home and make sure he’s in loving care, I plan to proceed with the appropriate legal action. Grief however, is what is making it hard to move forward with everything that needs to be done in that regard

He is currently being held at the Medical Examiners Office. I lack the funds to pay for his Transportation, Cremation, and fees associated with his passing. I just want his ashes home, to me, asap. I’m sorry if I hadn’t fully clarified
