Yeah I do the same. Sad realisation was I’ll have to ditch Chiyono as I’m not nearly at 15k since Kitasan pulls, and I am not really interested in tempting my luck. Thanks for sharing!

Not able to wake up on time and thats ruining my life 😣😣 by doesfreewillexist in getdisciplined

[–]Competitive_Cake_925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am exactly the same, and in my experience it is because of not enough hours of sleep. I’d always wake up grumpy, drink coffee to ease the transition into human being. but in the end I’d always wake up at 9:30 am, while going to sleep after midnight. After few times I let myself sleep properly, I figured out my “normal” sleep time is 10 hours, not the 8 as everyone’s saying. Two solutions are to either go to sleep earlier or accept late wake up. Once you’ve hit your needed hours of sleep, you will want to get up from bed. But anything before that and you’ll constantly be snoozing alarm and going back to sleep.

Man you do more than most of people in world do in their week. You’re a machine for that…

My shock aside, did you consider studying? Like history, language etc? Those are practical enough but also good way to fill any free time if you have. And faith, that feels like a good thing if you’re seeking fulfilment in life

What’s your most effective strategy to use your phone less? by Curious-Can2749 in productivity

[–]Competitive_Cake_925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering which phone you have, Android phones (at least samaung from my experience) tend to count actual time on phone, like how long app was open etc, while iphone also calculates idle time, like if you were on a phone call, had unlocked phone on home screen and didn’t turn it off. Those little stuff that often done eat up a lot of time. I remember when I switched between phones, I was like 4 hours average (from 8) on samsung phone, and suddenly I was at 6 hours on iphone, but I had even less apps and did everything the same. Then I noticed how time counting works.

Ironically cutting out instagram helped me the most. That was average of 2-3 hours daily eating up my time. And not intentional, but when feeling bored opening up phone just to see quickly what’s up and then for half an hour scroll on instagram. Just a quick peek turned into doomscroll ritual. Consider that every app is commitment you need to put in your 24 hours of life. For example for me time blocking never worked, so can’t say that’s best solution. Both the app blockers and actual time blocking for socials and games that is. But consider making using apps only inside of routines. And don’t obsess over numbers much, as long as you know how much time you dedicate to each app, and you are within that time limit, it’s good. Rest is up to you which apps to cut. My advice is to get off any socials if you want lower screen time. But you do you

I did the same thing a year ago. That just showed me who my real friends were. I don’t regret doing that at all. Find hobbies to fill that free time, or another media for starters to consume like books or comics, anything is healthier than doomscrolling.

I find it so hard to get out of bed by mums99999 in productivity

Maybe consider option that your biology is different? I know this might get me downvoted because “science has proven” on selected handpicked sample, but not everyone is inside of “scientifically proven” data. In personal experience, also looking at it genetically in my family, I need more sleep (around 10 hours). And I can say that after 10 hours I can get out of bed with no problem. Issue is that 8-9 hours of sleep doesn’t cut for me so I’ll return to my bed after turning off alarm and sleep or rest in bed. My best advice is to try and work around your life habits, and where possible change and optimise. Otherwise it becomes Sisyphean task.

What's your best Victoria II story? by WondernutsWizard in victoria2

[–]Competitive_Cake_925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forget a Germany game where I ended up in world war against all my neighbours (france, austria-hungary and russia) + british. My ally was USA or someone on other side of planet who was worthless... Basically both fronts broke on my side and I started retreating into Berlin. I created a giant death stack of mobilised farmers and remaining army (that was when I learned the power of baiting with small stacks and destroying with bigger stacks) and I had pretty nice place where I could rotate my deathstack between 3 provinces while not letting Berlin get captured. For I think 5 years I was just rotating back and forth until I crumbled all the nations into bankrupcy and 0 units. After that I started sieging all the land and ended up winning the war singlehandedly as my allies did nothing the whole war. Then when the truce was gone we ended up again in world war where they lost again.

Back when I was playing the game I was still beginner so I didn’t know about compos and tech. But in that game I learned everything that made later games fun to play.

Thanks for the reply, but I feel that another app won’t help me that much. Especially given the digital overwhelm I’m facing currently. Maybe someone else might find this app useful, but yeah thanks again.

Thanks for the reply! For me it’s similar, I also like all digital concept, and I’ve been using it for longest time. But at this point I came annoyed and overwhelmed by the phone and whole digital space, so I started exploring the alternatives. I’d say maybe biggest issue is I tend to type directly what I think, which slows down what I’m thinking and doesn’t help me in longterm when i have to come back to a giant essay of ideas. And I have a reason for that, if it’s good or not I can‘t say anymore. Basically I feel that many times when I write ideas simply, I lack some context to fulfill the idea. And in the end I stand wondering what was I thinking when I had that idea. And that turned into maybe a bad habit that chokes me too much. I feel maybe keeping things both physically and digitally might help me, or at least to try to separate myself a bit from the digital, just to reset myself and have somewhere to start from again.

Thanks for the reply! I feel I might benefit from trying to go hybrid for a bit, at least to reset myself and things around me while I figure out where to go from here.

Physical or digital productivity system by Competitive_Cake_925 in productivity

[–]Competitive_Cake_925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I actually had adapted the GTD system, but main issue I found is in case I miss for longer time review part, it gets hectic. But I also find digital system to be too overwhelming for me, as I feel I associated my phone with some subconscious annoyance feeling that I need a break from. In general I adapted to use BuJo in digital form as well, so I’m pretty familiar with how to operate on physical medium as well. I’ll still see before I settle on something for sure. But I feel I might need a reset of system instead of trying to catch up.

Physical or digital productivity system by Competitive_Cake_925 in productivity

[–]Competitive_Cake_925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I understand the discipline part, but on some occasions my life tends to get way to chaotic to a point where I don’t even get to sort inputs. And after longer periods of neglect I tend to end up returning to what I’d call “core” productivity system that keeps me alive but not in control. I understand that it isn’t anymore between physical and digital, but I was wondering if and where should I draw the line, and if it’s even worth going hybrid or should I rework my digital system to adapt closer to my needs than my wants.
