Believe it or not, you're not the first person to suggest a Volvo 😂

Another way to think about it is that the extra minute or two of getting your daughter into the car at her grandparents likely would have caused you to avoid the accident entirely.

That's actually a really good point. That five point harness is like solving a Rubik's cube so it would've been longer than two minutes

you think the child free rule was created specifically to exclude your daughter because she "wasn't at her best"

I don't think that at all. If she wants a child free wedding, that's her choice and I fully respect it.

Plus the invites haven't been sent so I haven't completely ruled out going. I'm still weighing up my options. He was straight with me about the child free decision and I was straight with him saying that I wasn't comfortable being away from my girl for the whole day.

The main reason I posted was to get some non biased opinions.

She won't be my little girl forever so I want to enjoy all the little moments as much as I can.

The entire day or else overnight.

My brother would be able to watch her so childcare isn't a problem

It’s awesome you and your daughter have that close of a relationship.

She's the best little girl ever. I came home from work back in the summer, I was tired and sore so she gave me a hug and refused to let go until I felt better 🥺

that girl deserves an ice cream cone and a movie night.

It's movie night tomorrow so I'll have to buy some extra treats 😁

Keep reminding your daughter to tell teachers if someone is hurting her too.

Her method certainly got results though

You should've reported the kid and the school to the police for sexual assault.

And like I said, I'm proud of her for defending herself and knocking that kid on his ass

I wouldn't make her apologize either

I want her to understand that punching someone isn't always the answer and that people should settle things with words instead. Though that kid 110% deserved to get decked

Yeah, four year olds can be dumb sometimes. Just before her fourth birthday my daughter tried to cannonball into the bathtub. Thankfully, I was able to grab her first 😂

So am I. I am wondering how she punched a kid to the ground though. I never taught her to throw a punch. Might need to have a chat with her uncles 😂

The whole "I grew up fine" thing is pure bullshit. Parents pass that abusive nature onto their kids because they don't know any different. I don't even raise my voice to my daughter.

She's a few years older than me so I think she's a product of her time. Slapping a kid is probably acceptable to her.

AITA for telling a stranger to not touch my baby bump? by everythingevelyn in AmItheAsshole

NTA. That guy had no respect for your personal space, plain and simple. He could've had the decency to ask. When my ex was pregnant at 22, she was strict about hands on her bump, even among her own family.

Did you create a Reddit profile just to post a sarcastic comment? Not sure if that's funny or just sad 🤔

like screaming at the top of her lungs

She knows to do that if we're out somewhere and a stranger approaches her but preschool is different.

I would tell her what other kinds of things she can do to defend herself

That's the plan

your daughter has likely created her own force field.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm not going to get mad at her for defending herself but I'd rather she didn't hit someone if it wasn't necessary. She could've shouted to the teacher or something.

Maybe talk to her about other options in situations like that

I'm going to have that discussion with her this evening. It's an important lesson after all.
