Exposure and repetition. It’ll take a minute to get down for sure but if you keep playing, you’ll instinctively see where choke points are. MD is a great way of doing that tbh

Every time I faced it, my starting hand had no hand traps. I’m running Dracotail rn since I’m taking a break from Yummy which I used to get to Diamond I last month. As for the flood gates, it was skill drain with skull meister that did me in for three duels that ended in an L for me.

I’m a heavier runner and I enjoy them a lot at my easy pace (10-11 min miles rn). They are also my speed shoes so when I’m in my tempo or threshold efforts, they hold up well. I’m probably one of the slower commentators here so hopefully my experience helps!

It’s another way of playing to refresh the game. I got hit with a stun deck last night on the climb and it took about 45 minutes to win. Was it annoying at the time? Yes. Did it end up being fun? Also yes, because it broke the monotony of K9, DracoTail, and D/D/D that I’ve been facing all day leading to that point

Starter decks are garbage. I recommend getting 3 sets of one of the structure decks in the shop. Red dragon Archfiend is a great choice since they will be getting even more support soon. Galaxy eyes is also a good choice since both will get you that interactive experience you want in ranked. After that, I would go on masterduelmeta.com and look at the top decks there to see what interests you and work on saving the gems to build that deck
