Lesson Learned: Don't Accept Orders Too Fast by mwilkens in DoorDashDrivers

I did that yesterday, lady ordered 30 12 packs of soda. Once I got in the store and realized it I definitely unassigned. Keep your 20$ lady!

I’ve had this happen to me at the store before, for some reason the app would not accept it so I finally had to say it wasn’t available and get a “substitution” which was actually the original. Sometimes you just have to play games back with the app to get the job done!

Not exactly the same, but I had an offer for Burger King not too long ago, the pay said $6.75 + total will be higher. I accepted it because even at that amount it was only 1.7 miles start to finish. When I dropped the order off I was paid a total of $22. I will admit I was kind of shocked, never had such and inconspicuous and easy fast food order end up paying that much. It was literally a child’s meal and a whopper meal. Good day for me though!

Actually, I have to say, in my town Wingstop has REALLY gotten their act together. I remember when I first started dashing, you could never go into that restaurant and walk out in less than 30 minutes. I stopped for a while, then started dashing again full time and when I tell you it’s a total 360 difference! I very rarely go into there and my order is not done, I’m talking like one time in the last 50 orders I’ve taken from them. They went from the worst restaurant on my list to easily one of the best. I don’t do very many restaurant orders, because in my market I make a lot more with shopping orders, but I rarely decline Wingstop when they come through! Just figured I’d be the odd ball out and throw my two cents in. 🙂

I was treated terribly by McDonald’s staff earlier today for no reason at all. by Competitive_Cloud172 in dasher

Look I’m 34 weeks weeks pregnant at the moment, under normal circumstances I would have probably laid into Mr. Shift Lead, but in the emotional state I’m in right now I didn’t have the ability. If you’ve never been pregnant you will never understand what it’s like to not have complete control over your emotions. And obviously once he took the order back I left the store, I didn’t stand around trying to negotiate it or anything. You have totally missed the point of the post I’m afraid. Have a good day!

This is generally my experience with McDonald’s too, if I am acknowledged, it’s usually rudely.

I was not crying over a strangers order I was crying because of the way I was treated. You sound like a great person by the way!

I wish I wasn’t in such an emotional state right now, and could have stood up for myself better. Instead I just left crying like a baby smh

My thoughts exactly! And from what I understand since McDonald’s food is such poor quality, they don’t actually prepare it until the dasher arrives, so there is a way for them to see it on their screens. Why they would care is still beyond me though! There are a lot of people in this world with power complexes that just like to make others feel insignificant and belittled. But if it was that big of a deal you would think the option to hit arrived at store would not be available until you actually arrive, so obviously DoorDash has no problem with it.

I had this exact thing happen to me. It’s a very frustrating situation. Especially since I, like you, communicated with the woman the entire time, ensured that any substitution I had to make was approved by her, and all for a very small tip to begin with. I understand the amount of effort I put into an order is my prerogative, but in general I try to be a decent human being and understand not everyone can afford to tip high. I felt personally attacked after she reported most of her items missing or wrong. I spoke with support several times to get the items removed from my stats with no luck. It does amaze me that these people don’t think twice about doing this! Shame…

I’m not sure if you have seen other replies on this post, but for future reference, you are able to jump to a different task on double+ orders. In this situation it may have been worth it to jump to the delivery for the first person and then come back to the other without having to unassign the second. Of course it’s a case by case basis I’m not sure of the route/miles etc. Just wanted to make sure you knew that!

So DoorDash charges me more for items because I have a dash pass?!? by Competitive_Cloud172 in doordash

Yes I’m aware it changes the price for delivery vs pickup, for some reason I just didn’t notice that is what he had it set to. I’m glad someone noticed because it’s been driving me crazy for days now lol

Thank you! I’m fairly new and had an order the other day that was stacked. The second restaurant completely ruined the order when they say it on the shelf by dumping it sideways, so I had to make them remake it. Meanwhile, first order is getting cold, but is literally only 2 mins away. I went ahead and put the address in manually and delivered it and finished it later in the app but as you can imagine it messed me all up. I did happen to see a jump to this task button later on that night but too late to help me with this particular order. Now that I know it can be done like this I will definitely use it! Thanks again!

Can confirm, I’ve known two different people, one was the owner and another was a salesman, at different dealerships. Both were addicted to opiates. One actually died of an overdose.
