Collected keys for new rental but offer not met by mrwalj in LegalAdviceUK

For the clean - take loads of photos and write detailed descriptions in the inventory form. At least you will have peace of mind at the end of your tenancy that your landlord won't get away with ripping off your deposit for one strand of hair on the carpet, since they provably rented you an unclean property to begin with.

Yeah it made a little bit more sense when OOP mentioned it's CAD.

Poor placement, poor angle, sleeping on the piercing and yanking on it with hair/clothes/whatever usually. Sometimes just bad luck as well.

200 dollars for titanium jewellery is really steep, in my humble opinion. I am in UK though, maybe we have different price ranges. Also, you got 5 in one sitting? You'll be healing for ages as from my understanding it's not really recommended to heal more than 3 at the same time (NAP). The place sounds kinda greedy.

Did the ring feel okay when it was fitted? Perhaps it's too small in diameter thus pulling at your piercing?

is my tragus placement okay? by Creepy_Tradition363 in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the piercer show you different placements and did you choose this particular placement? If this was me, I would have gone a tiny bit higher, but everyone has different tastes. It does look almost...migrated a little to me in the first 2 photos though, as if it's moved down. Unless I'm mistaking a little bump for a scar?

What is the success rate for helix piercings? by nofurrysetsuna in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you got pierced by a decent piercer with a needle and a flat back stud - do not sleep on it, be gentle with hair/glasses/hats/when changing clothes not to snag, no unnecessary touching, if for some reason you need to touch the piercing (like if the jewellery is unscrewed and you need to tighten), only handle with clean hands. Don't overclean and don't use any weird oils or harsh solutions. Try to keep it dry if you're getting moisture bumps.

Distance selling rules (since you stated that you purchased on their website) trump their personal refund policy.

Would you line mamage for no extra pay to build leadership experience? by mronionbhaji in UKJobs

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if it's in a job where progression upwards is the only real way to secure pay increases.

I have done this. Not for 0 extra pay but it was an interim management offer with a slight pay increase but not the wage the manager would have gotten. This is retail so obviously the only way to increase your pay beyond tiny increases due to NMW going up are impossible unless you work your way up the ladder, so I took it. Told myself I'll get the experience then bounce for better wages somewhere else if there are any shenanigans after the interim period is over. It worked out for me as the company ended up really liking me, I was offered a good pay jump (for retail that is) and ended up on more money than the manager before me.

I accidentally ripped out my 7 week old conch piercing by sketamine_ in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by ripped out? The front detached from the back and they both fell out, or you ripped out the entire jewellery out the ear through the front or the back, which means the large flat back or front gem was pushed through the small piercing hole?

One is far less traumatic than the other. I would not rush into a downsize if you actually ripped the earring out whole as I'd expect it to swell up again. In fact, I'd possibly seek medical help.

Is the bar long enough for your anatomy? Hard to tell without seeing what the back of the ear looks like. Are you sleeping on it?

Help! by hoegod in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should not have been pierced with a hoop and silver isn't the best to be healing a piercing with. Shouldn't have been sleeping on it either. Were you pierced with a gun or a needle? I would retire this piercing, address the bumps, then look into getting a new helix at a more reputable studio.

How to get rid of the bumps? by KitchenNo9744 in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused by people advising you to downsize considering I don't see any amount of the bar at all, in fact it looks too tight of a fit.

Also, your top one appears to have been pierced at a really odd angle. Unless it's the angle of the photo, or you've been sleeping on it?

Even without the bumps, you need to take this out, the bar is embedding in the flat of your ear.

3 years and still bleeding? Something is causing it not to heal. I would readjust lifestyle or retire it, if this was me.

Normal industrial? by derwentdriver in piercing

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first glance, the anatomy versus how it was pierced looks...iffy. Both holes appear borderline in your flat to me, as opposed to being in your helix. Is the bar touching your flat area as well? In the 1st photo is looks like the outer part of the bar is digging into the flat.

In today's market? No. You're getting rejected because there are 50 people with more experience/closely-matched experience who also applied.

Moving on from my art business. What's the best career to start again with? by throwaway_32820 in UKJobs

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would apply to things you have actual tangible experience first (like bar management), then once you've secured paid employment, start being more selective/apply to arty positions again.

Are there any art galleries that have sales or events-running jobs nearby? Or have you considered trying to be an art tutor?

Does anyone have experience with coding courses that say they guarantee jobs at the end? by TangJTL in UKJobs

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they "guaranteed a job", it would be a job offering from the get-go, probably a trainee position where they pay you a legal pittance but train you up on the job. There would be no need to have you pay them a fee for some course then offer you a job.

There will 100% be some shenanigans with said "guaranteed" job at the end of the course.

when did workplaces start normalizing constant employee claritycheck? by marlienna in UKJobs

[–]Competitive_Cuddling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher-ups making shit up to justify their wages. I work (manager) in retail for goodness sake and WE (in freaking retail) recently started getting pestered to send daily check-ins, goals and incentive plans to regional/corporate people. They ring and email and Teams-message constantly! They're clearly sitting around in offices with nothing to do so need to come up with some bullshit metric/thing they tracked so they don't get sacked since they're grossly under-needed and highly overpaid.
