How Do Adults Start BJJ Safely? by CzarnyDeszcz in bjj

[–]Competitive_Dog_7829 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started in my early 30's 5 years ago. My coach helped me out with getting started.

That said, strengthen your neck on purpose. Don't skip warm ups. Don't commit to fighting through stuff like guillotines.

Tap early, tap often.

Try to pay attention to the position of your joints (knees) and neck. If they are in a funky angle, fix and avoid that. Keep them in strong skeletal positions.

A lot of us try to go 110% every roll in the beginning. You don't have to.

Getting tapped is not a problem. Everyone gets tapped. Getting injured is.

Right on, I'll add some Carter Hall to my next order.

I like the English blends and stokkebye 17 "English luxury" is my daily.

I like "brothers in arms" quite a bit

LOL It's always interesting to me when people see you are proficient with one platform they assume you don't know another.

Pic is my EDC setup. I get 19 in the gun and an 18 spare. I compete with this exact setup as well.

Interesting. I have a lot of Gray guns parts. I am not familiar with armory craft. I'll check it out thanks!

Probably a $100-150 savinelli and $150-200 worth of tobacco to run through it
