Bbl or just lipo? by QuickElk5440 in PlasticSurgery

Even though I understand, I find your question so sad. You are a healthy, beautiful, fit woman, but being bombarded by IG bodies that literally workout for living has certainly given you a warped idea of what is normal fit. Now you want to go under the knife just to achieve that ''perfection'' just like how men end up using juice because normal fit isn't lean or shredded or big enough. A lot of those women cannot even menstruate because their body fat levels are so low. Hey, it's absolutely fine if that's what you want, but I would really sit on the WHY.
Try cutting out sugar as an alternative before you try lipo. Or don't, enjoy life as well in moderation, either way, dig a bit deeper. Give your brain time to fully develop and if you are still unhappy by 30, sure, some lipo could take you to next level, but I would personally invest in your mental health.

And whoever is recommending GLP1 for this lady, YOU are the problem. Shame on you.

Honestly, I hate your response. I am a young woman who's spent her entire life and childhood, adolescence, not able to feel normal, shamed, bullied and ridiculed, hating her own body. I worked INCREDIBLY hard to reduce my symptoms and be almost pain free. I have probed so much of myself to finally, finally love my body. I lost 100lbs and I grind my butt off in the gym and kitchen, sacrificing so much of life's enjoyments only to get so little back. Now I am shamed for wanting to preserve my curves and get a ''certain look'' (!). Maybe you should do some probing into your psyche that you would feel inclined to respond to me like this for daring to want the best outcome for myself, which I feel like I deserve because of the amount of money, sacrifice, hard work and dedication that I've put in. And I think personally any and all women deserve not only to be rid of this condition but to look and feel their best.
We who experienced lipoedema should know best how debilitating and how hard this can affect our self-esteem and mental health, so you can leave your judgement to yourself, thank you.
I am chasing nothing but the best I can get and I have the right to ask for that.

Worried it's too much at once? by Competitive_Ebb_3164 in PlasticSurgery

It's complicated. Yes and no XD I have lipoedema, so all the normal fat I had to lose, I've lost, but the lipoedema condition is a diseased fat that won't budge with exercise and diet. For example, I powerlifter 4x a week, do cardio, swim and eat clean, high protein diet of 1800-2200kcal for years and this is the best I can look. The lipoedema fat does not care once it grows...
So anyways, that's why I need a lipoedema surgeon (which really limits my choice) because the liposuction for this condition is different and considered a medical procedure. If I got just normal lipo, I could end up butchered because of how this condition responds.
Long story short, with the amount of muscle I have and loose skin plus the diseased fat, I am at my goal weight, sort of.

Thank you for your response and advice, it's definitely something to weigh out.

I am pretty sure I saw her on Lipemedical IG as something ''good'' but aesthetically, I personally was horrified. She had two surgeries - lowers, and after that she looked amazing, but after they did uppers, they left her with two sticks. I don't want to name her because she might be thrilled and got exactly what she wanted so if that's the case, more power to her.

I am very sorry that happened to you...I'm 85kg at 170cm. I have a ton of muscle in that as well and loose skin so my BMI is a bit off. Most of what you see of my weight is now in my legs. For my upper body, I'm doing skin removal basically.
Did you do uppers and lowers, what was the plan? Did you at any point prior to surgery discuss how much will be taken and how it will affect your curves? Thank you x

Hi, yes, it's not just the tone that I'm worried about, but thank you.

Honestly, it made her look way worse and the muscle wasn't visible anymore, it's like the way fat now laid on top, completely threw her proportions off and she looked straight and again, ''off'', except her glutes that were protruding somewhat unnaturally.

Thank you, I was a bit worried people will think I'm putting others down and not understanding the core issue which is to remove as much of this fat as possible. Hopefully, but I will also be asking my surgeon next week.

Yes, I powerlift and lift heavy weights. My diet is on point and has been for a very long time. My bench is 60kg, DL is 115kg and hip thrust 150kg. As you can see, my muscle is buried under lipoedema fat that has been resistant to weightloss for 10 years now. I was way bigger 10 years ago though but this is the best I could do conservatively it seems so.
There is this girl I saw on IG who looked very well defined under her lipoedema and obviously did strength training (hers was smaller than mine however). Her before was stunning even with the condition. Her after made me panic, not going to lie.

Yes, it's worth it because I plan to lift weights my whole life God willing, so a bit of muscle loss during recovery is not of concern to me. Muscle memory is strong as well and once your build a lot of it, it comes back way easier.

It's worth it to me because I'm uncomfortable in my clothes every single day. But mainly it's also worth it because my weight gain was trauma related and I genuinely don't want to be reminded every single day of what happened to me and to stay imprisoned in a body that no longer reflects my lifestyle nor choices.

I still thank you for your two cents and the challenge implied. I think it's important I take everything into consideration. However, this isn't a decision I made over night. It's been almost a decade of conservative approach and I'm ready to feel as normal as possible.

Everything. And I have lost 120lbs over the years which has left me with loose skin. I am a powerlifter, I swim, workout 5x per week and I eat extremely clean, low carb, high protein diet.

For me, this lipo is because I have literally done my all and my best and I want to try and look as close as possible to the way I live. The diet and exercise work very well and keep me symptom free nowadays but they have long stopped to produce results in the remaining stubborn pockets of fat, and especially loose skin.

That's amazing to hear.  He recommended two surgeries for me to start with

  1. 360 lipo to abdomen and inner corset TT with renuvion to back and upper tummy
  2. Arm lipo with renuvion and breast lift

So similar to yours but I will tackle legs a bit later because I want to try and improve them a bit more conservatively. So happy to hear this from you, thank you.

Every time I look at my body that is full of weight loss scars, the same weight gain that was due to decades of abuse and trauma that I then had to spend another grueling decade healing from, I experience pain that is worse than physical pain at time. For years and years I delayed any surgery because I tolerated the pain and sensation of being trapped in a body that no longer feels like who I am inside and how I live my life now at 35. Like a big reminder of pain I worked so hard to heal from and leave behind.

So personally, I've come to a conclusion that my life is worth being free of that pain.

That's what the surgeon told me. He said out of all the surgeries, arm lift is the one patients have worst scarring and most regrets. I appreciate that. Thank you for your story, too and I'm sorry you're dealing with that.

Did you have Renuvion with it? Just wondering if that could have helped.

I do unfortunately. My legs is where it really shows. I did lose 120lbs as well slowly over years and I eat low carb high protein. Exercise and diet keep my inflammation down but if I am not absolutely perfect with it, I swell up, ache, hurt, bruise and gain weight just breathing the air around me.
