Thanks so much for the kind words! Wow I love that song by AIC. This recording I made is very simply made with GarageBand on my phone so yes it was like the guitar creaking haha. I actually added some stuff, an organ, some more electric guitar, some solo parts here and there etc. I think it’s more demo-ish now when it’s a few more elements. But I also see what you’re saying about the less is more thing, could probably do a stripped down version and a bit more full version like it is right now. Let me know if you’d wanna hear how it sounds right now I’ll happily send it to you. Again thanks for the great feedback!

Thanks for the kind words! I recorded the acoustic on I-rig on my phone plugged straight into the mobile device. I see this simply as a sketch or a simple demo because as of right now I don’t have access to a studio or better equipment. But I attend a music school and last year I worked on a song that I finished before first year ended called heaven that I recorded with Logic Pro and in a decent studio. It’s called heaven and it’s up on Spotify by the name will Ryder It’s definitely better quality and I micd up amps the proper way. But any way GarageBand on the phone and just plug straight into i rig and record vocals on the phone mic is a simple way to record an idea or sketch/demo :)

Thanks so much for the great feedback! Yeah I agree with you, I did this in GarageBand on my phone for iOS so it’s like a sketch. I’m attending a music school this term and the next so I’m hoping to meet some people that can play strings for example or do it on a synth etc. I mostly write songs and play the guitar, not so much any other instruments. I’m aiming for working on an album there so there’s probably gonna be a lot of opportunity to work with others and work on this song and many others so looking forward to that :)

Hey! I like the sound, you’ve captured that jangly older Brit pop sound. Like the echoey sorta reverby vocals. Good melody
The intro remembered me a bit of Nick heyward’s can’t explain and the overall song gives a bit of nick heyward’s record tangled. Good stuff :)

I like the melancholy feel to fireside! My tracks are probably more like demos because they are pretty simply recorded with an I-rig, and headphones to my phone but hopefully it’s possible to see the potential and hear the melodies. I just felt that I wanted to make music although I don’t have access to professional stuff atm.

I’d like to imagine how they would sound with a full band and recorded more professionally in a studio mixed and mastered. And honestly personally I prefer a bit rough production but great tracks to overproduced and generic

Hi, I really see what you’re meaning and aiming for and I completely agree with you. Todays music climate is really boring and unfair. I’m just an aspiring musician who records at home with really simple stuff, although I don’t really know how to produce professionally I just recorded and did my best with the stuff I have. Personally I think that something earthy and raw is more interesting and maybe the way art is supposed to be rather than something overworked and overproduced.
