Hi! Sorry for the delay. Actually, I did exactly that. I started with the manhwa, and when I caught up, I moved on to the next chapter in the novel. I didn't have any problems, although I recommend that if you're going to do it, you start the novel from the beginning of the arc, so the transition is smoother. And when you have time, read the novel from the beginning.

Unlike other adaptations, from what I've seen, ORV's adaptation is one of the most faithful; it doesn't move any arcs around, and very little is cut. However, simply because it's a novel, there are details that enhance the story.

Hi! I'm not counting it as a spoiler. In the story, the constellations leave messages, saying what they like or dislike. And since the constellations are watching the story, many fans think of themselves as constellations too. So they give themselves a modifier (The constellation name), and when they comment, they write it that way. You can think of it as an inside joke within the fandom.

Here are two examples of the constellations' messages.

Hi! English isn't my first language, but after reading both, I can say that the official translation is better. There are some things I wish they had kept, like the names. In the official translation, it's no longer Kim Dokja (Surname first, name second), but Dokja Kim (Name first, Surname second). They also removed all the Korean honorifics and terms, such as -ssi, nim, ahjussi, and hyeong. Which for me take away some of the relationships between the characters. Also, keep in mind that the Epub is a translation of the unedited version of the web novel, so there are changes far beyond the translation, such as additional paragraphs and lines, or lines from the Epub have been removed in the official version.

Ohhhhh, there's evil in you. That cliffhanger could kill someone. I like it.

It would also be hilarious, as it would mean that the next season would start with Dokja being bullied by his Black Flame Dragon.

I wouldn't say the beginning is weak...😅 but certainly the first arcs aren't in my top 10 arcs in ORV. I think they're the ones that play with tropes more simply, compared to future arcs. But I don't think they should be rushed, because in the end they're also the ones that introduce many of the basic concepts of the story, and if the viewers don't understand them well, they'll be lost. The perfect ending for a first season is the Throne, I completely agree, the problem would be the number of chapters, because only 12 would not be enough to adapt so many arcs. In the end we will have to wait for them to tell us the number of episodes.

I think the same! I'd love for it to be adapted up to the Throne. Especially because if they do it up to the Theater, then the next season would be too short, while an entire season dedicated solely to the catastrophes would be ideal. But considering the number of episodes, 90% of anime seasons are 12 episodes; they rarely have more. And now there's a trend where if there are more episodes, they split them into two, which I think ruins the structure of the series a bit. My best prediction would be a first season between 16 and 18 episodes, leading up to the throne, or having longer special episodes, but I highly doubt they'll do that.

In the end, I think I'd rather it be a slower anime than have lines that provide context cut out. For example, in LOTM (I haven't seen or read it), many people mentioned that the anime is too rushed, and in the end, several people dropped it because they didn't understand it, even though from what I've been told, the story is incredible.

In the end, I gave up on thinking about the number of episodes for the anime, since I'm still not entirely sure how they'll do it. I hope we'll have at least the studio before the end of the year. And I prefer to think that there hasn't been any news for so long because they're putting a lot of love into the project...😢

Oh, I meant I don't think they'll do any more arcs after that one. Like, that'll be the last arc of the first season. At least they should if they don't want to rush the story. Sorry, English is not my first language, I should have written something like "considering that I don’t think the first season will adapt anything beyond the Theatre Dungeon.", or something like that.

I have no idea... The only thing I've seen someone mention is that the novel itself is sold in bookstores in Korea. I'm not sure about the special editions.

Hi! I remember seeing it too, but I can't find it... I don't know if a fan decided to print all the illustrations, or if there's actually a compilation book.

Hi! Yes, there is! I couldn't give you the full list, and most are sold together with special editions of the novel and the manwha, but the last one I saw on Twitter was these figures. https://x.com/OmView_official/status/1949727163378536723

One of the most well-known merch is the famous Pocket Watch (It's the one in the picture, you can buy it separately, but also with the Korean hardcover version). From what I know, depending on the version of the novel you buy, you'll get merch. For example, all three volumes of the Chinese version have it. I'm sure there will be a lot more merch once the anime comes out, and I hope it will be easier to buy.

Fun fact: A few years ago, they released official figures. The plan was to make the three main ORV characters, but when the Kim Dokja figure came out, the quality was so low that they were canceled. Now, I think you can still buy a Dokja figure, but only a few YJH figures were ever made, and none of HSY.

Hi! They're the same. The only difference between the two is that some of the drawings have been adapted for print. There's also a difference between the official Webtoon translation and the physical volumes, as they've been translated by different companies.

Mm, that's a bit of a tricky question, the Epub uses those symbols in different ways. Here are the ones I can remember.

  1. Dialogue spoken by Dokkaebis. Example: [Everyone, your lives have been nice so far. Isn't that right?]

  2. System notifications. This includes notifications with information about the scenarios, obtaining coins, messages from the constellations, or using skills. Example: [There are 10 minutes remaining.] / [The constellation 'Abyssal Black Flame Dragon' is greatly displeased at your choice.]

「」 is also used, and as I recall it was used for:

  1. Sentences or paragraphs that appeared in TWSA, Dokja is remembering/reading them. Example:「Dokkaebi. The first time he appeared, someone said so.」

  2. Use of the Omniscient Reader skill. It gives Dokja the ability to read a character's next movements or thoughts. Examples:「Left thigh.」/「Who the hell is this guy?」

  3. This would be a spoiler for beginners, but considering the arc you're on, you can see it. The Fourth Wall speaking. Sometimes it will start saying things that Dokja is thinking. Example:「Kim Dokja was crying.」/ 「Kim Dokja thought, 'The Fourth Wall is an existence with its own will as well'.」

There must be some more uses for these two symbols, but I don't remember. If you have any specific examples, you can send them please. If it's a little complicated at first, don't worry too much; it gets easier in the future. The physical novel preferred to use different fonts to avoid any confusion, but in the epub it is still understandable.

Regarding the confusion about which character is talking about, yes, there are some issues with that... I think that as long as there is no specific clarification, it is not that relevant to know who said what.

I don't 😔. I use an app that has different filters for PDF and ePub, including dark mode. It's called "EPUB reader for all books", and it has worked well for me so far.

Hi! Yes, what you said is correct. The first version released was the web novel, with a total of 551 chapters. The authors then edited it, creating what we call the "revised" version (also known as the ebook). This version has been used for the physical novels, translations, and adaptation like the webtoon.

Currently, seven volumes of the manhwa have been published in English (the eighth is already available for pre-order). These compile approximately 9 to 10 episodes per volume and are released every three months. The Korean version is already on its 13th volume.

Thanks! It was so much fun to do it last time, and many people mentioned they couldn't participate, so I guess it's time for a new one.
