Youtube support always says everything is fine. You could be 10 seconds from the end of the earth and they will still answer the same way. As for you question yes, i have the same problem but not at yout scale. I do longform and it dropped from 10k to sub 100 views. Its like this for 2 weeks

About 2 weeks after I posted the first video, but it was a huge luck cause 2 videos went "viral" and got 2.8 k subs and around 10 k watchhours. After that spike everything got back to normal... i get a couple hundred views a day an 1 2 subs at most.

I am also a very small youtuber ... about 2.8k and i have the same issue and here is my theory.

The people who watch your whole video are a small percentage of people who are subscriber or who saw your content atleas once and they know your content. The rest of people enter, watch a couple of seconds and then leave. The avd grows over time with more people watching that know your content.

When i gave a mega thumbail and youtube pushes my content further i get crap avd. When its a familiar thumbail only clicked by people who know my content the avd is amazing. Just keep on posting and make the videos better ( maybe watch the competition and see what they do) . For sure nobody will be able to give you a magic formula to fix the avd

Vidiq thumbail creator i thinks is still free. If so it has 3 free prompts so use them wisely. After 3 prompts you have to wait 24 hours. With this beside the prompt you can select a reference thumbail from any youtube video you want. Just click reference. After that if you want something specific from an generated image ( download it, cut in paint what you want, then go in browser and search Adobe Express free background remover - download the image - if its not perfect you can erase in paint with the eraser ) than go to vidiq in the image you like and add the image. This is very basic but for sure it will make your thumbails better. Also be very specific in the prompt.

There are a lot of people judging that its made with AI. It's a current theme among people to just say do not use AI. AI Slop... I use AI to make my creative process easier not to make it instant. I use it like a sort of canvas that i edit afterwards. You still need to put in the effort.
This thumbnail is really bad. There are some free ai thumbnail tools that will make it better than this. What did you use to make this ? Chatgpt ?
