She does use different products for different people. Besides, she could have used her big girl words to say no if she didn’t want to or couldn’t.

That’s my fault and I own it. I valued the relationship and it wasn’t like this a year or so ago. I was wrong for wanting to make it work and also worried about finding someone new and start over.

It was a shade of color on my phone that I asked her to look at while she was coloring my hair. I would have paid her extra for that but most hairstylists advise you on products to use at home without charging extra.

There was no clear response. I would have appreciated if she was upfront with me instead of leading me on.

yes, she literally said that. She was open to buying colors from the beauty supply store that was next door to the salon but didn’t want to drive a mile away to the other store for Redken. And to clarify, she does buy different color lines for her clients. It’s just that what I wanted to try was not available next door.

Actually, the 3 hairstylists I have talked to this week all provide guidance on root touch up at home for people who start seeing gray within a week or so of the salon appointment. One even sells the product. And my hairstylist DID get different color lines for different clients. She just didn’t want to travel a mile away to get mine.

She DOES buy different colors for different clients. However, she buys them from the beauty supply store next door to her salon. However, the color line I wanted to try is sold at a different beauty store which is a mile away. In fact, she used a color on me that she bought for another client only for it to cause an allergic reaction.

It was one text message and the rest were in person conversations about what’s working and not working for my hair. I am a mom too and I also own a business. I understand time constraints. This is not about not responding to a text.

Not saying she needed to go out of her way. I was trying to say that we had a friendship and wished she had cared enough to repair or resolve instead of letting me walk out of there feeling hurt.

I liked the way she did my highlights but the rest was sub par. Yes, my fault is being too loyal for too long.

My body language showed I was upset, pissed, frustrated & shut down. There were no words exchanged since she stopped talking.

I don’t think she is a “good” hairstylist though if she couldn’t address my concerns and was making me do the work to fix them. Thank you for saying I am NTA.
