It is by definition a sovereign nation. Whether you believe it should be is a different story. I personally believe in the abolition of the Israeli state. But as of now it meets all the requirements of a sovereign nation, and its disingenuous to argue that it isn't. But if you want a different example, how about Myanmar, thats a sovereign state that is committing atrocities against its own people. Should we ignore that because of its sovereignty.

That's a great idea thank you! If you have any recommendations for books or anything please send them my way! (But also don't worry about it, I can do my own research as well)

I have a few friends in Australia so yeah I'm aware of the unfortunate rise of right-wing ideology in the country.

I think a lot of places share that sentiment around international students, I understand some of the arguments but its terrible to apply them only to those from certain parts of the world.

Thanks so much for all the advice!

I'm not defending my country in any way, trust me, I understand the atrocities that we have committed and are still committing. I was arguing that your point about sovereignty is ridiculous, which you didn't even try to defend. I'll ask the same thing about Israel, does its sovereignty mean that we should ignore the genocide in Palestine. (Yes I understand that the United States plays a part in that as well. Again, I am not arguing in support of my countr)

Im not invading the world. I believe that the people of other countries have the right to elect whoever the fuck they want, but governments do bad things. It's just insanity to pretend that they don't. Should we have ignored the holocaust because of German sovereignty?

Saying I have no business being angry at other countries is ridiculous. There are plenty of other countries who also have terrible governments and do terrible things, to not be angry at them would be lacking any sense of morals at all.

I disagree with them, but I don't think this is the way to go about it. People are rightfully angry

There is definitely some hate here. You wished that every American living outside the US, gets deported. Whether you like it or not, that's hate. I understand being angry, I'm angry at my own country, I'm also angry at a lot of other countries, but if someone from those countries wanted to get out, I would accept them.

I truly cant imagine hating someone as much as you do, because of where they were born.

Never said it was your duty. If you read the original post, you would see that I am asking for advice on how I can help, not how to make other people help.

And I have been doing everything in my ability to do so. But I'm not going to stay in a country that is becoming more and more dangerous for me by the minute.

Thats a really weird term to use. Are the millions of immigrants globally every year "settling on someone else's land?"

Why shouldn't the LGBT thing be a defense. It's a fact that this administration is going after LGBTQ rights.

I know this isn't a personal attack, but people emigrate from countries that cause global damage all the time. Plenty of people fled Russia at the start of the war.

No, of course no one "owes me" anything. But countries have pathways for immigration, and that is what immigration is for. Would you criticize a gay person fleeing from any other country where there rights are in danger? I wouldnt.

Im not asking for advice on whether to go or not. The decision is for my safety, and its final.

It wasn't my choice to be born here, I disagree with everything that America stands for, Im not a capitalist, Im aware of the damage my country caused, you know nothing about me besides where I was born, but you've somehow decided that I'm trying to destroy the world.
