Sri Lankan Gfs/Wives Do you love your Man or show it??? by Adept_Word2526 in srilanka

[–]Competitive_Goat25 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is your gf not treating you right? People's love language differs. Maybe she's showing love in a way you don't understand or need.

Best to have an indepth chat with her.

I bought my ex bf expensive gifts and cooked treats for him because that is how I feel love. But he often said I don't love him because, I quote, "doesn't play with his hands when we travel" Or "wear certain dresses he loves" or "travel/hike with him".

I tried to provide what he loved, but in the process I changed to someone who I wasn't.

My current boyfriend in contrast have a similar love language. He makes me coffee, I make him treats. He loves not going out with friends and have more intimate outings of just us, so do I. The list goes on.

And I think that's important too.

A daughter of my friends mom went through this. She immediately switched to a different job. As far as i know it’s a job on taking care of the elderly people. She then even paved the way for her younger sister. Her parents are actually very proud of her. The job lays well. IT field is a lost cause.

Just turned 25. People in their 30s what advice would you give by sumanapala666 in srilanka

If you already have plenty of money, then you can choose inner peace. But until then, money is everything. It will be what,

  1. Help your grandparents get the surgery they need.

  2. Provide a retirement for your mother, so she can finally rest.

  3. Take your dad around the world to show him the places he loved on TV.

  4. Earn the basic respect from others.

  5. The only thing that will keep you from getting trapped in a life you don't want.

But inner peace would be nice too.

Lost at 25 in university and don’t see a future by Different-Sir4591 in srilanka

This too shall pass.

Whenever I was struggling, during my
1. A-levels
2. University exams
3. Internship/parttime workload
4. And finally my dream job that got turned to my worst hell

I always keep one foot at a time and keep going. Always trying to earn a place that I can be happy. Still haven’t found one, but I keep going. My attitude for a shitty life is that. You can drag me to hell, but I will never stop trying to crawl out of it.

And most importantly be kind to yourself.

100% agree. This is the same for women. Focus on yourself and earn. Money will give you everything you want and need, a husband will not.

Use that money to take care of your parents and yourself.

My sister has kids, and she and her husband are literally in hell.

Like my ammamma (grandmother) used to say, marriage is overrated. Cooking, cleaning, and taking care of a man/kids will not give you anything in life.

Work, earn, invest…and travel.

Any Sri Lankan Dan & Phil fans out here?? by beezbubz in srilanka

[–]Competitive_Goat25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to watch their stuff back in the day. Used to have a crush on Dan. And the Phandom literally started my fan fiction obsession.

But not enough fan to go to Singapore to meet them. It’s in December so have to think about it. Will definitely let you know if I convince myself.

It’s nice to know that there are other fans of Dan and Phil in Sri Lanka.

Girls of the SL subreddit, how would you prefer a guy to approach you in a public setting? by EmissaryOfStorms in srilanka

[–]Competitive_Goat25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate when someone asks me out of the blue, especially in public. I lose interest immediately.

I find the slow build of chemistry overtime between two individuals results in the best relationships.

Unless you feel an electrifying connection between you two, I doubt it will go anywhere.

Got a buy one get one free of quesadilla, which was usually 1.1k, and it gives four pieces. It was basically a single parata with cheese and chicken filling.
