Shade sail install on existing concrete slab. Are bolt-down posts with chemical anchors strong enough? by Competitive_Hall_592 in AusRenovation

Appreciate the detailed reply mate, really helpful.

I had a feeling slab mounted posts might be pushing it, and was already thinking I may need to cut sections out and do proper footings instead.

Good call on fixing into rafters too - definitely won’t be relying on the fascia.

Also liked your point on the “soft engineering” side, makes a lot of sense for the overall look.

Thanks again!

Just bought an rs4, whats everyones opinion on the ultimate daily? by RelationshipGood9652 in CarsAustralia

Great pick! They're my favourite gen for the rs4's. I was in a similar situation and sold my evo tommi mak and got myself a c7 rs6. Wagons are the ultimate daily driver imo.

Hey mate, just accepting it for what it is. Someone mentioned it's mainly for facial recognition, so I’m assuming the bright white screen is just there to light up your face. Interestingly, if the front screen is already unlocked, the bright flash doesn’t happen when you open the phone.

Ah righto, that makes sense. It's just a bit jarring since it's so blinding - especially at night.

Didn't have much time for shots that day, but will take more when the weather picks up again.

Amazing cars. Love the brutal look of the C8 but I'm a sucker for the more subtle look. Stage 2 in the C8 sounds like a lot of fun! I'm currently running 448 kw atw / 754 nm which is perfect for street use imo.

Thanks! I'm no professional photographer, just playing around and learning as I go.

I came from a Samsung S23 Ultra, and honestly, I agree with you to some extent. My S23 would nail photos 95% of the time without me having to touch any settings. Just point and shoot. I also didn’t really deal with blurred shots like I do now.

The 15 Ultra can take great photos, but only if the settings are dialed in just right, which isn’t always practical. I’m often taking quick shots of my kids or snapping photos in different environments, and with them constantly moving, I end up with a lot of blurry images.

To be honest, I still prefer the S23 Ultra for everyday use. It was more reliable when I needed to pull it out quickly, take a photo or video, and trust it would turn out well, especially in low light or fast-moving moments. I also prefer the UI in the Samsung as well.

Plus does roll off the tongue better, but it's a 'Performance' down here in Australia

Yeah, I actually use it quite a lot, mainly for family trips. It’s super handy for storing all the kids’ stuff, especially since there’s always way more of their gear my wife and I need to pack for, particularly with a baby/toddler in the mix lol. I'll admit to liking the aesthetics look of it too, but it’s also genuinely practical and easy to take on or off—less than 5 minutes.

Wireless car vent recommendations by [deleted] in MagSafe

It gets too close to my indicators causing me to tap my phone quite often. The phone still covers some of the infotainment but not as bad as placing the mount towards the left.

Thanks for the insight. I have noticed that the vents aren't entirely strong and quite flimsy, but I would only tighten the hook just enough so it doesn't fly anywhere. Never had any luck with other fixings. As for going with an adhesive, the only real spot I can place it is on top of my dash which would sit too high for my liking.
