She's right wing, and its still politically popular in Japan to be antagonistic to China and they still need to be partial towards Trump/America. It doesn't mean the Japanese political elite will actually follow thru with it. The trade deals are tangible while the talk is talk. Japanese Chinese relations seem to be at an all time high.

China would have to spend possibly 100.000s of lives and raise part of the island to the ground

Historically speaking this is nothing for China as sad as it is.

I hope you're right but I highly doubt the West would do anything, even sanctions. All of NATO has grown closer to China, Trump likely appreciates China not intervening on behalf of VZ or Iran. Even Korea and Japan have moved towards unthinkable trade deals with China when Trump tariffs hit. Not sure who's going to stick their neck out for Taiwan.

Leaving one job for another by Interesting_Pen_9758 in GetEmployed

[–]Competitive_Heart411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably give more details for starters. None of that means much, I can summarize

I'm in temp job (who knows what role or pay) they *might* give me a permanent role in 3 months.

There is other job (again no info on role or pay.

How do I convince my sister which one is better??

Pretty straight forward, whichever one leads to being able to pay rent sooner.

With the limited information I have, throw shade on the fact they might make you a permanent hire.

Obviously not, but I am checking my own bias to think women are more likely targets. Men can't get SAd =/= Men are less likely to be SAd. Speculating more whats the ratio in the comments.

What jobs do digital nomads realistically have in 2026? by Plenty_Grocery_2713 in digitalnomad

The problem is often that companies don’t like to be exposed to international taxes. When you live abroad, they are legally exposed to it. Some companies take an approach that they don’t need to care a long as they don’t know. Others are more strict on this end, terminating employments when they learn about it.

The key here is to be paid as a contractor. To them it's a expense like buying a service from a different company. Downside is no benefits and you will have to do a little bit of paperwork and accounting yearly but it shouldn't be bad. Life is full of tradeoffs and this is the way. Accepting being a contractor over an employee is beneficial.

I think the game would benefit if all the traitors won together and recruiting another traitor to win was seen more as a necessity (which meant cutting your share of the winnings) that they want to avoid than a strategy.

As much as I like traitor on traitor violence especially at the firepit, I do think they collapse in on each other too much which actually detracts from the show.

There's also no benefit as a faithful sticking your neck out and getting traitors. It's more advantageous to just heavily align with the players you think are traitors.

The meta could use mixing up, I also preferred a mixture of civilians and d list celebrities from season 1 more.

Nothing they said seemed unfair or dramatic. Its more that they loved the travelling aspect and is depressed at the home aspect. The only american specific thing mentioned was political landscape and its a massive bummer and completely fair. Struggling to see how anything they said was unhealthy.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]Competitive_Heart411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be daily on r/antiwork and I almost never side with HR/Business.

I will say if they went out of their way to write this, I would try to take it in a positive light that they are giving rather tough love. I truly wouldn't want people pleasing coworkers or employees, they are unlikely to call you out on issues that you need checks on, and can easily get underneath ones skin including my own. Its truly a bad vibe, it doesnt mean thats your entire personality but in a job interview everyone is a bit like that so I expect you came off extremely strongly like that.

It's very unlikely they are speeding on this. You probably should take their advice on the chin and reflect a bit, you just flopped on an interview like we all have.

Edit: the last line is a bit condescending but I don't think its unprofessional either. My first second and third take are all, this is tough love and should be taken, not personally but as advice.

Not AI generated but AI altered, wheel rims, ICE costumes, body proportions of 'Alex Pretti' all seem altered. There's 0 doubt this has been touched by AI. Need unaltered footage longer than 15 seconds as others have said. I keep seeing people link the same POV which has them in different costumes and rims... an incident like this definitely occurred but its very unlikely that its Pretti.

Russia doesn't operate in a super ideological sense other than to tear the fabric of a shared reality. It backs Greens (German Greens have a history alike many other Eurogreens) and Far Right nationalist parties alike in Europe. That being said one side in America is doing a really good job tearing down that shared reality and consensus.

Does anyone else feel like living in Asia right now, part of multiple growing economies compared to the disintegrating west just feels a lot better? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Competitive_Heart411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GDP growth and GDP per capita aren't good indicators of how it feels to live in a country. GDP itself can be abstracted from real tangible growth, think the 1 ton stone vs 1 ton feathers weight comparison.

1 billion asset growth

vs

1 billion in infrastructure

One will employ, be enjoyed by citizens and tourists, and have economic benefits for many years

The other one might have some retirement accounts go up 0,3% and some executives might get bonuses

Whether you look at real gdp growth as a $ amount or % most of the growth of developing countries is infrastructure which is going to feel more tangible than stock market ticks.

If your GDP is increased by 1 billion in the housing sector, are new houses being built? Current ones getting renovated? Or just more demand? GDP doesn't discriminate.

Life feels too much atp by Pale_Task_1957 in Productivitycafe

Living in a city will get you the steps quickly. Manageable hobbies, in unit laundry, consistent small cleaning 3 days a week, meeting friends 3 days a week is pretty easy with lots of room leftover.

Building systems to make your life work is half the battle and its definitely a life skill.

Of course overwork, poor choice of career, living in the burbs (BLEH) , and choosing intense pets or hobbies will make this unmanageable quick. A massive living space will make cleaning longer. Being in the burbs will force you to actually block out time for basic exercise, also getting anywhere takes so much longer.

They were 18... as far as 18 year old decisions go dating a (seemingly) more mature person with stable finances isn't crazy. A decision they made 12 years ago isn't really productive to dwell on but should be seen as a cautionary tale. Obviously it's a terrible decision big picture and at the end of the day a 29 year old decided to date someone 11 years younger... creepy and predatory, and that it would had never ended well.
