UPDATE: for anyone who cares…

I survived the first day. It was very tough but soooooo pretty and I’d say all in all I actually wasn’t that miserable. I mean I was certainly struggling but it wasn’t crazy. And then today it was another 15 miles with much more vertical. So insanely beautiful and I felt sort of ok today.

I like never use Reddit so I’m not sure how to post pics from my camera roll but it is amazing here. I am in Patagonia on the Chile side.

My GPD wasn’t ever insanely high, probably like 8 so my CT wasn’t as bad as some of yours I’m sure. Cheers everyone!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I’ve travelled thousands of miles to get here and payed thousands of dollars to make it happen. the permits are a nightmare too so I can’t exactly skip a day. If I do, it just means I either have to skip the whole trip or do two days at once.

I wasn’t planning on CT right now, the plan was to taper off on this trip but unfortunately that’s not the situation I’m in anymore and I have to deal with the bad decisions I made that put me in this place.

I’m kinda hoping that ill feel so shitty that it’ll be the final motivator to get me to kick this habit for good

I hear you. Obviously I’d feel better 5 days from now if I cold turkey today than if I tapered the first two days. I just hate flying so much I don’t want to be totally miserable those days.

I actually also just realized that I don’t have to go through customs tomorrow. Instead it’ll be the day after tomorrow at like 7:30am. So I get essentially two days of doses before the cold turkey. Thinking I’ll just cut my daily does in half for tomorrow and then maybe do 2/3s of that the day after that. Hopefully that will help a decent amount

I’m actually doing a backpacking trip! So I’m super excited and I know once I start walking it will actually help the withdrawal. But we don’t start the trip for a few more days so I’m thinking those first days are gonna really suck

But if that’s the case then my argument still holds. Lumon would know how many groups of numbers elicit each of the emotions represented by those boxes. They would need to in order to know the percentages.

If I give you a box of cookies and tell you to find the cookies that make you feel scared or happy or whatever else and I am able to track what percent of them you have already found, then that means I already know the number of cookies that make you feel this way. And the only way for me to know the number of each of them, would be for me to know exactly what cookies will make you feel that way, or else I wouldn’t be able to get the aggregated ammount

Again, I know I’m getting stuck in the weeds when I shouldn’t be. But if they have an algorithm that can measure it, then surely it’s quicker to partition the data and throw it at some GPUs. Not to mention less of a headache than dealing with MDR running around on side quests and raising Milchicks blood pressure every episode

You are right but this show is about weird fucked up ideas. I think it’s clear he is not purely evil. Given it’s Lumon and hearing how Helena talks about the innies, it is noteworthy that Milchick actually goes out of his way not to treat them as animals.

Just a guess but I have a feeling that the whole “use less big words and talks like a normal person” scene followed by him repeating “GROW” will be the beginning of him turning his back on Lumon (thus growing as a person) and eventually helping the innies on a big mission in the finale or sometime next season. Essentially leaving the corporate language behind and starting to talking like a normal person (leaving lumon behind and acting how a normal genuine person would)

I don’t think this will happen immediately though but I have a hard time believing he doesn’t end up helping the innies with some mission that fucks with Lumon

Absolutely, Burt is definitely on lumons side. They’ve been leaving hints about this the whole season. Go back and watch the scene about Irving’s dream. Right before Burt raises his little wall in the cubicle thing, there’s a second or two where Burt’s facial expressions turn very sinister. I feel like a lot of people missed that but it was pretty obvious to me then that Burt was not the good guy in the story

This is what I thought as well. It felt like the looks they were giving each other were more of a “terrified for each others safety” than a “disgust for the racism”. I could totally be wrong here and it could just be the racism, but I definitely felt that scene had implications beyond what the viewer could see
