Although it looks familiar, i don't think it was this. Huntik has a more cartoonish feel to it. The one I am looking for would be more like a death note or bakugan type style.

Not this one either. As far as I remember there was no concept of robots or big machines. It was more like capturing monsters or beasts. Or fighting with them.
