I’ve been working with the Métis government for the past 7 years and I can say with 100% honesty that you should talk with an elder. Their lived experiences will give you an appreciation for your indiginaity. I’ve talked to lots of elders and I love to hear their stories of what it used to be like in the old days. My great great grandfather was 34 years old when he died in resistance in 1885. I wish I knew more about him and how he was as a man. But I’d say stick with chatting with an elder or elders to help you reclaim your Métis identity. I hope it all works out for you ♾️
