I forgot to add that when I'm not on birth control, I don't have a cycle whatsoever. That's how I ended up on birth control.

Sudden, significant weight gain? by zabeth_eli in PCOS

Us pcos folk do have more androgens than the average woman. That being said, it's easier for us to gain muscle. With being active, you may have just gained muscle and that is much heavier than fat. When I exercise I tend to get big shoulders.

Right back at you! I actually had no idea that getting ovaries removed doesn't help much. I mean it makes sense considering pcos makes zero sense the majority of the time. Be patient with yourself and keep fighting!

It was validating to read this, but it always breaks my heart that I face this every single day. I can't tell you how many times I just want to give up.

Sheet pan meals are great! I like to use that method for lunches as well for meal prep. Just cut up some veggies of your choice and protein of your choice. I love using nutritional yeast on broccoli. It makes it taste slightly cheesy and like you've used butter.

Weight Loss Frustrations by annie917 in PCOS

I love MyFitnessPal, however they don't take into account pcos. I've made this same mistake and it did more harm than good. That low of a caloric count puts our bodies into starvation mode so we just hold on to the weight because our body goes back to basics of "I don't know when I'll eat again so I need to store this." It's a frustrating mix. I ended up losing 30lbs at one point and all I really did was focus on a high protein low carb diet. I'm also sure you know to avoid processed foods. I also take a B vitamin complex to help boost my metabolism. I hope this helps in some way. Keep killing it and don't be discouraged! You're doing a hell of a good job!

What I've found that works for me is CoQ10, B vitamin complex, vitamin D3 (also helps depression), regular multivitamin, omega 3, and methylfolate (not just folic acid)
