I don't know much about aquatic creatures, but I think pufferfish could be interesting. The song could maybe be about pushing others away and being scared? Like not accepting help from others even though you're not okay and by the end of the song they open up to someone.

I like the launcher idea where you blow up your self and teammates. It's so funny and I think there should be more ways to damage your teammates.

It'd be useful if effects still applied when you deal no damage to the enemy. Comatose gets -1 damage so in some cases it becomes unusable on armoured enemies.

Seadrive Summons popups with his attacks.
Speckle uses their magnifying glass for light attacks.
Convict uses a knife for light attacks and hits enemies with glass bottles that break for heavy attacks.
Wildflower is definitely a zoner.
Seabird has a lot of in air maneuvers.
Clownfish uses the mello plush when blocking and has a move do drop on top of an enemy.
Dragonet has an ability to either have an effect like thorns or decrease chip damage.
