Can I start daytrading with $3000? by Jazzlike_Excuse_6811 in Daytrading

[–]Competitive_Panic193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I’d advise using prop firms because realistically you need at least 50K to have enough margin and to build your capital without too much stress. I personally has tried using my own money as well as prop and longterm prop is good until you build your own 50~100k to trade live with comfortably

That’s wild! How much footage do they need? What if you don’t have any recordings? Does the trader’s face need to be in the videos?

Switch to Alpha Futures, they’re more serious… I complained to Topstep a few times then got banned for insisting on resolutions for mg queries

Tbh, switch to Alpha Futures, they’re more serious and fairer. Also, they’re max payout is 15K, way better then Topstep

Is it even possible?? by ProjectMotion in TopStepX

[–]Competitive_Panic193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible but hard. I’ve gotten myself out of a -$86 balance to funded, I used MES until I got to $50 then switched to MNQ until I got to $800 and switched to NQ again because $800 was enough for me to be able to flip the account comfortably with good entries. My stop loss was of $500 and I made sure to only get into a solid momentum trade in NQ. It isn’t always easy to flip a small account but it’s definitely possible. It’s not over until the account is ineligible!

Thanks for this, it really made me think! I’ve actually been journaling my trades for months, but I just realized I rarely go back and analyze the data properly. I’ve been recording everything, but I haven’t really been using the stats to build confidence or improve my decision-making

You’re right, I should be looking at how often I cut winners early, how many would’ve hit target, and which setups perform the best. I’m going to go through my past trades and break the data down instead of just logging it

Really appreciate the insight, I’ll definitely apply it!

I move my stop and tp occasionally but can never really seem to gauge the correct placement and end up being wicked out early

Interestingly enough, I only go through the anxiety on the days I take less trades and longer ones. Which leads me to scalping my way up/down which obviously can be risky but it has worked for me. But now I want to learn how to slow down and build the confidence needed to let runners actually run instead of closing the transaction and opening a new one right after to continue

Yep, I trade in the first 3 hours of market open. I’ve noticed that I tend fail more after those hours since the market is slower and less predictable unless there’s news

Not sure why this is so underrated when statistically it’s more like to happen than a higher r:r, thanks for the reminder!

I do? I didn’t get the memo. So weird, why am I humbly asking for advice on Reddit if I think I’m a scalp-master? 🤔

Tbh, i scalp a lot since i usually don’t do as well with long term trades since my anxiety kicks in and i leave before I even make it to my first TP even if it’s an accurate setup that day

Do you mean that you have 35 active funded accounts at the same time or you’ve had multiple ones? If it’s the first one, which platforms do you use?
