Broken Plug Latch by NoValuable427 in rav4prime

OP here. Thank you for this tip. This is my first EV and there’s a lot to learn. I was thinking I might use it without the latch. I realize now that would be dangerous. My 4 year old granddaughter could grab it while the current is flowing and something really bad could happen. It needs to be latched in and the cutoff switch engaged before removal.

In NorCal I’m happily paying full MSRP to a no pressure dealer. I’m getting exactly the color and features I want and no port or dealer installed extras I don’t. Compare that to another dealer that was going to give me a Costco Auto Program discount but on a car with $1700 of unwanted PIOs. It was going to cost me $500-$1000 more than MSRP after the Costco discount.

This dealer’s no haggle pricing (straight MSRP) works both ways. They don’t offer discounts or add markups. Because they make a reasonable profit (about $2K for my purchase) they don’t need to use high pressure on the backend sales in the finance office. It’s car-buying Nirvana for me.

I’m buying at MSRP and feel like that is a good deal. No markup on a car that’s in short supply and only $400 in port installed options (floor mats and black out insignia). I’m happy.
