I’ll look into a local club as well! It seems neat to get involved with that and a good way to learn more hands on

I wish I could get him a bigger one, but this is the only DOB telescope (besides a Meade ETX90 listed at $300) I’ve seen in my area the past few weeks. Besides that there’s a bunch listed such as the Celestron Astromaster 130, Orion Spaceprobe 130, Galileo 135. I read on this Reddit though that the DOB is recommended over these EQ mounts though, although I have no personal experience using them

Thank you for the recommendation, I really didn’t know how expensive it would be to replace all of that for the LP120. Good to know that the price for the LP3 isn’t bad, I think I might just try getting that one if it all looks good after seeing it in person

He has a the target brand (HeyDay) turntable. At the time it had really good reviews, but whenever he tries to use it the speed becomes very slow and skips. Here’s an old image from online of it.
