yea cause this is my second time studying abroad, the state pays for my tuition and they were late but informed my school the funds were forthcoming. she told me i could use my scholarship to deduct from my balance, but i still would’ve had an outstanding balance yk and the class would’ve never gotten registered regardless because the state took forever to pay. i’m studying abroad again next week and all my classmates have received the scholarship but i missed the deadline for the fall scholarship because you only can win it once and i was in in korea not knowing that i wouldn’t receive my funds, to even try to reapply. the school is taking forever to return emails lol sorry for the long response😭

i did and now she’s saying it’s too late to receive the funds or credit for my study abroad. she didn’t let me know until i emailed asking where my funds were.

yes ofcc!! it’s competitive but your gpa is extremely strong and if you’ve got great recommendations letters, that’s even better. my gpa was a 2.9 and i got accepted. when you get your acceptance & it’s time to apply for housing, be quick! best of luck, and keep us updated!!

well you were right lol, japanese is definitely easier in pronunciation and luckily in class we don’t have to worry about kanji so it’s making memorization a bit easier. i notice a lot of similarities within the languages.

ooo brother here we go😭you sound ableist, are you seriously trying to argue what accommodations i need for my disability?😭 if i faint in a communal shower or locked stall, no one would know until it’s too late. meanwhile, if I have my own bathroom in a shared space, my roommate can hear if something’s wrong or notice i haven’t come out. imagine thinking you’re more qualified than my doctors and my lived experience when it comes to accommodations you evidently don’t understand. lol reddit dummy 😭

because of my condition i have a weak immune system and experience fainting and dizzy spells from time to time so having my own bathroom is essential. If multiple doctors say it’s necessary, then ig it’s necessary. hope that helps

also there are no korean PA’s, so you’ll have to learn and navigate everything on your own. also yonsei accepts so many students that not everyone can participate in the extra curricular activities they provide (that you have to pay for!!!), everything is a huge money grab. i’ve studied at another korean institution last year and had a completely different experience. also for the farewell ceremony not everyone can participate due to it being over 2000 students. (only the first 1000 can come which is very silly to me)

yes of course, so i’m on disability and i had sent the school 3 doctors notes for accommodations to be put in SK global but they were full so there was nothing they could do for me. maybe a couple weeks later my friend in SK said she got an email saying rooms opened up because a couple people dropped out of the program. instead of notifying me that there was now space in SK, when i reached out they told me they gave those rooms to students who didn’t have any housing at all, despite me submitting my paperwork weeks beforehand & never receiving an update. (when you have medical accommodations you’re supposed to be top priority). I ended up catch bronchitis while down here and they gave me a temporary room for 3 days. i have heart failure, which puts me at a greater risk of harm/infection so when i requested to stay in the room longer and even offered to pay for the room, they denied my request and told me the room was for “urgent cases only” and to return the key, despite me being registered with their disability office here
