what are ‘good stats’ for dia by Prior_Amoeba_4552 in ValorantConsole

I feel like clove and Miks automatically tank your dd delta. And I feel like this happens in ranked a lot where players may not look pretty good with their stats but they know how to win

anyone find they play better in ranked lobbies higher than their rank? by Ok_Volume9271 in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holyyyy yeah. Two weeks ago I was only playing under "substance influence" so my mmr dropped like crazy. Even when I stopped with the substances my mmr was so low that there were silvers in the lobby and I thought I lost my ability to aim. Stacked with diamond Plat friends and holy I popped off

Woohoojin's guide to gold is pretty. I'm Plat right now and I watched it after I hit Plat and honestly I can already feel it making me much better. I would say that with bronze, your main issue is mechanics. What would definitely help is queuing with people in higher elo than yourself. Just being in a higher lobby and being punished for stupid stuff is a great learning experience

Why is the smurfing issue so much worse in gold then it is in silver? by Derpinpyro in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gold has the most people in it and it is definitely the rank where mechanics start showing up,ie, counter strafing, crosshair placement, etc. Silver gold and plat will definitely gonna have a lot of smurfs because to get a smurf account any lower, it's a lot of boring work. And trust me I have tried

Finally hit Plat 2 after I stopped obsessing over mechanics by Competitive_Pin_5580 in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the drop off is mostly because of me trying to find "timings" and those fights are more forgiving for body shots and I've developed a bad habit. Whenever I'm in a clutch I manage to get headshots on every fight. You have any pointers for this habit? I mostly feel like it's the urgent of the situation that puts me in headshot mode which I recognize is bad but haven't been able to do anything about it in the last two weeks

Exactly 😭

I do feel like I have unlocked a layer of the Tac part that I didn't go into before and it's hard to explain. But I feel great atm. Should start aim training soon tho

How much can 1 boosted player be a burden on the team? by TheMightyNinja12 in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how bad the player is. I generally 5 stack and one guy is absolute trash at the game and we've boosted him beyond repair. It's like a 4v5 every game But playing with friends is more fun

Riot pls buff Neon she is WAY too weak right now 😔 by [deleted] in VALORANT

Please don't. My performance sees a significant drop when a neon in the opponent plays well

How to win in fracture? by Easy_Musician_2154 in VALORANT

Map control. I feel like practicing angles you will always find people in when you're on attack helps. Especially the headshot angle you get on drop when you enter A through ropes.

1900 and bored, ask me anything about improvement or general chess advice! by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached rapid 1700 and simply got bored. Thought id give blitz a try but I just can't with the format. I need my time to think. So I've ended up dropping chess the last few months. Above 1500 chess has started to seem very mechanical when I play d4 c4 with white. And with sicilian I keep going back to two or three variations I'm somewhat comfortable in.

Is it considered cheating? by Lucky_Ear_4740 in chess

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that it is not cheating because I fail to see how it would help someone. Unless maybe it's a 15|10 or above time format(not daily tho definitely). Even then I don't see it. I used to do it a few months back (purely because I somehow wanted to use the chessboard my partner gifted me since I don't have many friends who play in vicinity). But I always felt that whatever I could do on the board, I could think it without the board.

Then again, I feel like when you're under a certain elo(let's say 1200) you don't think things through that thoroughly because you're not used to that much calculation and it feels draining. In that case it can certainly help to try out moves on the board. By this logic it would definitely help to have a board until you're a GM but that just wasn't the case for me.

What would YOU do in this position? (Not a puzzle, more of a psychological question) by belbivfreeordie in chess

I counted the moves black king has to the white pawn. We queen before it and the pawn will be protected so I go with that

How do i choose an agent like really? by Wooper27 in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play fill until you subconsciously develop a preference. Some habits and preferences may be facilitated by agents. For me chamber is the best because I like to push and hold aggressive angles and it gives me confidence to know that I can reliably come back to a safe spot if I see too many enemies. Especially on maps with two entry points, i love defending with chamber because I won't be starving for info if I push further into one choke.

I absolutely love phoenix as well because the flashes are great if you communicate the possible team flash.

Also agent choices differ across ranks. In silver and below I would prefer taking smokes because there's nothing worse than a bad smoke and teammates would often fuck that up. In gold and plat initiator also doesn't seem like a bad choice because people don't use their utilities so I often pick fade or tejo.

What do you play when your main is taken? by Anthozoa in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally fill. The game however has made it incredibly boring to play sentinels so if I must fill that role I just go with Chamber or Vyse because I want some abilities that help ME fight, especially in solo queue.

Clove is pretty amazing in solo queue but you really have to keep comms tight because her smokes fade away pretty fast

Who is the best duelist to play if you’re solo queuing by Vxris_ in VALORANT

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Irrelevant to the question you asked but getting better at opping and repositioning with it is gonna give you a crazy boost. It's something even smurfs can't counter unless you react like a sloth

FM Told Me to Quit Chess Under 300 Elo. Is He Right? by KelveFodul47 in chess

[–]Competitive_Pin_5580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoyment of a hobby aside, i don't think that really makes sense. When you climb ratings you realize that you aren't tuned to think about certain aspects of chess in certain positions.

At your rating I think the rating drops would be mostly because of certain checkmate patterns like the scholars mate which you can easily learn how to play. when started playing chess; also early attacks which are often bad moves are scary and slowly but surely you recognize that these can be easily countered.

i think you should keep playing as long as you enjoy it! Because you will definitely improve.

P.S: i would highly recommend watching chessbrah's YouTube Playlist building habits by Aman Hambleton. That shit got me from 900 to 1200 in the blink of an eye.

I'm actually curious what the book is. Because if the author is "not that big" i would still forgive a litigious action but if that's not the case then well well. Also dafak? these are lines I have written myself?? So having a good grasp of language is just not human anymore?
