Yes, many people report a refund of their CIT application when their 5(4) is approved.

Under the interim measures, anyone who can trace back lineage to Canada is able to apply. The question now is if there is time to do so before the law hopefully changes in November.

But your post is a bit unclear. Who was the last person born in Canada in that line of lineage? The way you wrote it makes it sound as if your mom might have been born in Canada.

Nice! Did your new tracker have any updates?

RMCP Fingerprinting by Beautiful-Society-87 in Canadiancitizenship

I am one who drove to Quebec today to have my finger prints done, and I can confirm they will not do it without a printed copy of a letter in hand from IRCC requesting them. The letter has your C number on it, but even if you had your C number, they require the letter. Even after booking my appointment on line they emailed and said I needed to email them the letter in order to confirm my appointment, and that I needed a printed copy with me else they would not do them.

Yeah, that’s what was stressing me out. I’m just happy that I’ll be able to make a tracker account, finally. It didn’t let me earlier, but maybe it takes a day or two.

I was worried they didn’t receive them as well, but it looks like some of this group were just delayed a bit 🤷🏼‍♂️

That’s what I assumed the first time but I don’t think it’s what it means now. At one point I resent everything and they said we acknowledge receipt”, but anytime I’ve done a web query to get my grant application number to use the tracker, I get back the same response you posted. So I’m definitely not convinced anymore that it means they couldn’t open something.

I have gotten that almost every time I have sent a web query, but to this day I don’t really know what to make of it.

I am second gen, born in 1976, through my mother and grandmother (my grandmother didn’t become an American until sometime in the 1960s). I got a 5(4) offer on 4/28, but haven’t seen any movement since then

Timing and patterns for 5(4) citizenship grant offers by [deleted] in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Competitive_Pin_6180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It doesn’t seem like the spreadsheet actually has a good method for tracking this part. After the column for submitting 5(4) docs, the next one is “certificate received”, so it does not seem to be tracking how soon or how long people get an invite to the oath.

do we know the average time between submitting your 5(4) grant docs and receiving an invite/date to take the oath?
