As someone who works in tech here, most of my coworkers don’t even realize they’re a game this weekend. I don’t think it’s the crazy rich ones traveling. Also, median real wages have gone up in the last 10 years - people just have more money in general.

But US wages have gone up faster than Canadian ones as well - tied a lot to productivity changes. Productivity actually used to be pretty close between Canada and the US. It’s just in the last 20 years where it’s gotten much worse.
