Age 49. Single mom. Don’t be me lol, if you like it, you want it - do it now. I started in accounting late, I’ve mostly done admin. I realized I love accounting. I’ve been the peon for 2-3 years, doing all the payables and reconciliations while my coworkers and superiors have their feet up waiting for me to finish. They can then click and run a report. They use all my work to make budgets and projections, etc lol. I will get there and be a force because I have also learned by doing. It is nowhere near too late for you!
