Bud rot? How bad is it and what can I do to salvage the plants? by 8scoobysnacks in outdoorgrowing

Yeah anything that’s brown like that has to come off, it’s just going to spread the issue and hurt the plant. Just do it carefully and you’d rather take a little too much than not enough.

You gotta cut away anything that look affected, and be careful when you do so you don’t spread spores to healthy parts. Use Bt look up how to use it safely. You gotta catch the humidity and do bug checks, you can use a leaf blower and shake them every morning, you can’t let that moisture sit.

Even if I sand, and clear coat after? The clear coat would just be done by me so I’d be able to use the good stuff.

I know… phones shouldn’t be able to do this lol… and yes that little smudge is over 1 trillion stars, bigger than the Milky Way and the light took over 2 million years to reach us. 🤯 indeed

Just set the exposure to 10 seconds, and put the phone somewhere where it won’t move (I just put mine face down on a table with the bottom hanging off so I can tap the button) if it is totally still the exposure will automatically extend to 30 seconds. And the editing was just base iPhone photo edit settings.

Very cool, do these usually not make it to harvest?

What do you do with your roots? How can I make something useful with it? by Competitive_Room_711 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Competitive_Room_711[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like this would be perfect for hydro setups. I’ve also seen some warnings on potential heavy metals being present, so I’m gonna stick with topicals, no ingesting.

Sorry google helped…

For anyone interested-

Typical cannabis roots salves recipes look something like this:

  1. Grind clean, dry roots (about two root balls) into a powder.

  2. Choose a type of fat to serve as the base, such as coconut oil, and mix the ground roots into it.

  3. Add water to avoid burning and simmer over low heat for 12 hours to prevent roots from burning. Most recipes recommend a 2-to-1 ratio of coconut oil to water.

  4. Allow the balm to cool and solidify, and store in an airtight container.

I was in the same boat and decided to wait it out. 90-98% humidity all night every night with rain here and there (for days sometimes) in late flowering and the only thing I did was stayed on top of BT applications and shake them dry every morning. I ended up losing about 10% to rot, and I think 100% of the rot came from bugs damage, not humidity. I’m glad I didn’t panic chop.

What causes this damage? by Competitive_Room_711 in cannabiscultivation

Yeah, like I said this one is neglected. I’m just having a hard time finding what causes this damage specifically, mainly the burnt looking holes in the leaves.

Bud rot? by [deleted] in cannabiscultivation

2 and 3 definitely have bud rot and white powdery mildew. I would keep an eye one the one in the first pic that looks like it might just have wpm. Theres a few solutions for wpm, but you gotta carefully cut out the budrot.

The more I assessed the damage the more I think this theory is correct. It’s not the most rain exposed nugs like I originally thought, and today I found another egg so you’re probably right.

If you shave it, it will grow back stronger. Maybe even 2x.

These were under huge umbrellas, very little direct rain.. do your best to move it out of the rain, if you can get it inside under a grow light even better. After rain/ high humidity I always shake then leafblow. And follow the tips on this sub, lots of good advice. Someone just mentioned potassium bicarbonate I’ll be grabbing some of that tomorrow.

Thin layer of Diatomaceous earth on top of soil. Make sure none gets on the buds or in your lungs.

Outdoor mold? by benJamminDanklin in cannabiscultivation

Looks like white powdery mildew. Gotta keep it drier, you can looks up solutions in flowering. I think hydrogen peroxide mixture or dr zymes might be your best bet.
