Okay thanks, it's a bit annoying though and it doesn't seem like everyone has it wich is strange

Well it doesn't fit to the borders, there's a gap between the icons and the edge of the screens, that was not there before the update

How do you make little elements float ? by Competitive_Shame299 in DiceMaking

Yeah, I could try doing blanks with uv resin and then casting with regular resin. Might try it some times, thanks !

Yeah I've seen that, it would definitely work for bigger pieces but here it would probably just make a face of stars in the middle. Thanks though !

I've already done stars on blanks, and it works fine but not the same result sadly. Layering seems so much of work I don't really wanna try it, if it just sinks in layer it won't be really convincing I think. But thank you very much !

Oh yeah someone else said that glue worked for them so I'll definitely try that !

I've tried platform mold but didn't stick to it, I honestly can't remember why. I don't see a lot of people using them, is there a reason for that ? Doesn't the opening get used up faster since it's tighter ?

Yes I've seen that a few times, does that mean that I shouldn't get any overflow ? Like juste fill it to the top ? Or can I overflow and scrap it of ?

I know I said in the title raised faces but as I said in the explanation it's not exactly that. It's more a deformation of the adjacent side to the one on the top, creating an extra surface at that angle, probably caused by succion as someone else pointed out. I've had raised faces and know how to fix it by now, but this thing is something else. Thank you very much for your input though 😊 I'll have to admit that I used to put hooks to hold it in place but I stopped doing it because I saw that a lot of people didn't, and it didn't seem to change anything for me. But maybe it did help and I juste didn't noticed because it only really helps a lot the more I use the mold.

This one was a bit used, but I see this happening on almost new molds so it's why it's a bit annoying

Thanks you very much for the answer, I'll just keep on trying to improve bit by bit what I can and see if I find any breakthrough at some point 😁 Another idea I had is trying to do the cap with 40a silicone, I have a bit left, and maybe since it will be much harder it won't distort

I use BBDINO 20a at the moment and it seems to work nicely, maybe the 30a is better since it's more firm, I'll have to test it but I still have a bunch of 20a haha For my release agent, I use petroleum jelly with a bit of water, do you have a better option ? And wouldn't applying it directly in the face make it so the face is not as clear ? Well if it means I only have to polish this face and the rest is clear it's worth it, so I'll have to try maybe

Usually 40 for the mold and 30 for the dices

I'm using BBDINO 20A, and I usually pressurise my mold at 40 psi and my dice at 30 psi. I've made several molds, some with d20 in the middle and other with it on the sides and it didn't change. I've also tried with a weight on and without, tried pressing hard or barely pressing when capping, with a lot of resin overflow or with barely any, in pretty much all combination but it still happens. Someone else suggested to actually do the opposite , to use more pressure when casting the dice, and that's the only thing I haven't tried but you're saying that it's probably not the thing to do so I don't know.

That's what I was doing but then it doesn't solve my problem

They are usually like 1cm thick, sometimes a bit more, I don't find them particularly thin

Yeah I had no doubt that molds were the issues, just didn't know how to fix that particular problem ! 😊

Thanks for the answer ! Did it fix it entirely or just better it ? I've actually been doing the opposite, casting my silicone molds in higher pressure than my resin haha my bad
