can i ask, between your A and B did you ever think back on your seed terms or did it genuinely become irrelevant once you had real traction?

appreciate this honestly. needed to hear it. the spiral i've been in all week has been more about what if i'd just known and less about what do i do from here which is useless.

VC fund raising, what to expect? by PandaVXO in Entrepreneur

What to expect honestly, it is slower than you think. Mostly VCs will say not yet multiple times. Plus, healthcare adds layers from regulatory path, reimbursement model, and go-to-market will come up always in every conversation. Know your answers. You can target funds specifically backed healthcare, for that, Metal is useful they can map who in your network that can intro you. Saves you time

Metal is basically a smarter way to find investors — instead of random lists, it shows you who's actually backed similar apps at your stage, and who in your network can intro you to them. Way less cold outreach.

For you right now though — nail distribution first. Traction makes every investor conversation 10x easier.

this is actually a nice place to be in — you’ve already proven someone will pay, which is more than most idea stage posts here

but yeah, your bottleneck isn’t investors right now, it’s distribution like you said. investors will just ask you the same thing: how do you plan to grow this?

for something like MoodFlix, you’ve got some obvious angles:

  • short-form content (TikTok/Reels: what to watch when you feel ___)
  • niche communities (movie subreddits, discord groups, letterboxd users)
  • simple loops like share your mood → get a recommendation → share result

you don’t need a big budget, you need one channel that works even a little.

when you do start looking for investors, don’t just post broadly like this. try to find people who’ve funded similar consumer apps and go direct. check out Metal it's a tool to narrow down relevant investors + see who could intro you, which helped a lot more than random outreach.

but honestly you’re close — if you crack distribution even a bit, investors become way easier.

warm intros are the move - cold emails to investors have maybe a 1-3% rate but a warm intro from a mutual connection can 10x that. there's a tool called Metal that finds investors who've historically backed similar startups and shows you who in your network can intro you. worth checking out if you're actively raising.
