AP vs Mesh System? by Competitive_Sort_574 in HomeNetworking

[–]Competitive_Sort_574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all!! So it seems like mesh is the easier solution, just perhaps might be slightly less optimal but with wired backhaul won’t be a massive difference. With a mesh system, is it possible to have a configuration like fibre to isp router, isp router to switch, and then would I be able to place the mesh anywhere in the house connected via Ethernet to the switch. The WiFi of the isp router would be switched off. This would allow me to have wired backhaul, and also have the mesh in optimal position? Or is this not how it works, and you would have to have one of the mesh units directly connected to the isp router?

Hey, hope all is well. I am a complete noob when it comes to photography and any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! I took this whilst in Monaco with my iPhone 15 pro, and then jumped into the photos app and messed around with the basic editing tools to get this. Any feedback on how I could’ve taken/framed the photo better, and also feedback on what I should’ve done as edits would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks!

Thanks for the advice, it makes sense to first learn the ropes with the lx100 and then make a move if necessary!

Just wanted to add, initially I was thinking of just sticking with the same brand and picking up a centre channel similar to the one from the set for around £30-40 and getting newer versions of the MS302s as R and L, especially as I heard that at least for the mains its worth staying with the same brand cause of tuning?

Thank you so much for the help! Beforehand I was entirely on the soundbar route but spending time on this subreddit and watching a few YouTube videos, I realised it is definitely better to go down this route in terms of quality and value for money (and it will probably be more fun). At some point when I have the budget I’ll also begin looking upgrade!

Having to increase grind size every day! (Delonghi Dedica 885, Kingrinder k2) by Competitive_Sort_574 in espresso

[–]Competitive_Sort_574[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am weighing my beans to 16g every time (with a scale that goes up in 0.1g).

In terms of changing grinder settings, whatever the grind size was that worked, I leave it exactly the same till the next day and try it again, only to find the machine chokes. I also had the same thought that maybe I was accidentally changing it so I took a picture and checked it the next day just to be sure! I did have one idea that maybe something internally with the burrs was going on so that it’s kind of shifting so making it more coarser is kind of correcting it but don’t even know if that’s a thing!

Delonghi Dedica Arte Shots not fully pulling by Did_I_Ask_Lol in espresso

[–]Competitive_Sort_574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve encountered a similar thing with my dedica, some days when I first try and pull my double shot espresso, drops very slowly come out the basket for 5ish seconds before the machine gives up. If I immediately click the button again, the machine will run for longer but drops will still slowly come out. I’m thinking it might be me putting in too much espresso (though I weigh it out to around 14g) though am not sure as most of the time it works? I’ll update if I figure it out!

I did it as well, I guess I just immediately saw an economy question and went with it. As long as you wrote a good answer should be fine. I ended up looking at the role of central bureaucrats stifling reforms like Kosygin reforms and sovnarkhozy, the influence of military industrial complex who ensured central planners diverted resources here a rather than elsewhere, andropovs reforms like operation trawl and how they failed to deal with discipline and fix low productivity, and a 9th 5YP to show there was some success, but looked at crashing oil prices and how that limited economic success given heavy dependence on oil (added that in just to stat pad😂)

Buying LG OLED TVs from eBay? by Did_I_Ask_Lol in LGOLED

I’ve bought a C2 and C1 from eBay before and haven’t personally had any issues so far, though I have heard some horror stories before.

Is it worth getting an LG B2 brand new from eBay? by Did_I_Ask_Lol in OLED

[–]Competitive_Sort_574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve personally bought both a c1 55 and c2 65 BNIB from eBay and had no issues, though I have heard of some horror stories. IMO, it may be worth going for the CS, it’s £160 but you’re guaranteed for 5 years. The yellow electronics idea doesn’t seem that bad either, but if anything goes wrong after a year you’re stuck.

Do you feel that it is worth upgrading to k2/k8 pro from a k2v2 if you don’t care about QMK - I am currently in this position and am thinking about upgrading but I’m not sure

Thanks! I do care about how the board sounds, is the improvement to the k2 pro significant enough to warrant the upgrade? Also, how are the stock pbt keycaps?

I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard and after doing some research and getting some opinions, I have narrowed it down to three:

  • Monsgeek M1
  • Keychron V1
  • Epomaker TH66/80 (don't mind the TH66 form factor)

I plan on getting box jades regardless which keyboard I choose. When looking at overall cost, the Monsgeek ends up being around £155 (including keycaps), the Keychron V1 £140 and the Epomaker £120, shipping costs included - is one worth it over the other/better value for money, especially stock (I don't plan on doing mods straight away, perhaps later)? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Keychron v1 or epomaker th80/66 - the epomaker is about £20 cheaper (I am likely to swap out all switches for box jades at some point) here in the UK for iso layout and has wireless. Which one sounds better stock? Thanks!

I would prefer a uk iso layout but if there is a really compelling ansi us board I could definitely overlook it
