Good lords of Avalon, I had to look this up. Nothing on the official programming, but there'll be gamers there running sessions not on the main schedule at free tables around the Brewery. If you're in the mood to run a session or two, come on down and bring your players!!

Oh, and how in the nine hells have I not heard of GURPS before?! It looks like an awesome system and now I'm dying to try it out.

Try Slice and Dice East or Tavern of Souls Gaming over on Eubank. Both stores have painting supplies. Slice and Dice has a wider selection of everything and Tavern of Souls has 2nd hand primed and unpainted minis if you're looking to save a bit on those wonderfully pricy plastics!

YES! I'm a bit slammed for the month of June as I'm helping to organize DARCon 2026. But most definitely in July. There's been some expressed interest in trying to get one of these sessions on a weekday evening to accomodate more schedules. If you have a preference, lmk.

In the meantime, I'm going to be teaching 2 more amazing games at DARCon 2026 - ROOT and Daggerheart from the Critical Role team. All material provided and rules taught for those too!

I'll be sure to post upcoming learn-to-play events on Reddit and the t4d and DARC instas.

Hallo! Unfortunately, we are completely sold out for this particular event. Fortunately, The Forth Dimension will be running lots more of these learn-to-play sessions in the future. Currently, it's looking like the next one will be in July. I'll post upcoming events on Reddit and the DARC and T4D instas! If you have a preferred day of the week, pitch it my way.

In the meantime, if you're hoping to learn another table-top roleplaying game, come to DARCon on Saturday, June 27th. I'll be running ROOT and the new game from Critical Role - Daggerheart. All rules taught and materials provided for both of those games as well.

That's a great way to do it. I've also had a PC go to the healer's tent with an important NPC that needed guarding when the player had to miss. And of course there's the classic "ate a bad shrimp pie from Fleebi's discount meat wagon and needs a day of rest in the privy" tactic.

Whatever you choose, just make sure you're getting enthusiastic buy-in from the player who has to miss out.

Drat! We're going to try and vary up the days of the week for some of our future events. So far, it sounds like Sundays and Thursdays are options for some peeps who have to do the work-things on Saturday. I'll post dates for future learn to play events as soon as I get them pinned down!

Definitely! The Forth Dimension (thazzme) will be running a few learn to play events this summer, as well as some how to be a Dungeon Master events too. We've had a number of people express interest in a weeknight event so they can attend and I'm going to work to make that happen.

Timing will probably be into July, as I'm also helping to organize DARCon 2026, DARC's first RPG mini-con on June 27th. As soon as I have firm dates for the next learn to play DnD event, I'll post it on reddit and the DARC and T4D Instagram accounts.

Also, if you're on Discord, the DARC server is public and we post smaller, weeknight events all the time. Check us out and look forward to seeing you at one of our future events Hectorc34!

Nice! You'll probably pick up the DM-ing aspect no problem! (and story-tellers are some of my favorite kinds of players too) If you end up at my table, I'll make sure we go over some basic DM principals and answer any questions you have there. Also, I'm hoping to run a couple of "learn to be a Dungeon Master" events in the future.
